RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina hospitals would be required to let a pastor or other clergy member visit a patient even during a declared emergency like a pandemic under legislation that received final General Assembly approval on Wednesday.

I am visiting NC now. STILL, the stupid McDonald’s here has drive thru only. Democrat Communist governor, of course!
I live here in NC about half the year.
There is no such thing as “Fast Food” in the south.
I will read this bill. I’m part of a Spirituality in Medicine group at the hospital that includes Dr’s, and clergy. There are situations where the Dr must have the authority to remove the clergy from the room.
I’ve been in some pretty hectic critical situations in the ER and ICU that clergy should not be present.
I belong to another group run by a Carmelite Nun who is also an MD at George Washington University Hospital. She wrote the curriculum that is used in over 70 medical schools to train Dr’s to work with clergy as part of patient care. Chaplains make the rounds with the Residents.
It has its problems, but overall is a good idea.
One dangerous area where clergy need to be restricted is in the Inpatient Psych Ward. Often clergy were part of the problem that resulted in the patient’s admission.
What are the citizens doing about this? I live in the free state of Florida, and the only insanity is self-inflicted by Dems in Dem cities.
I was in TN about a month ago, and I had visited the GA/SC/NC triangle shortly before.
Georgia was fine, SC was okay, but I didn’t cross over to NC because I heard they had gotten weird. Sad, because a lot of NC and all that area lives on tourism.
Damn si.ly we need a LAW for that.
