SMH. if they're born-again Christians, they would NOT believe that Jesus sinned, nor would they believe that buddha and Muhammed are valid paths to salvation. They are NOT.
Buddha and Muhammad can’t raise you from the dead.
It's happening, it's getting worse and it's the root cause of a lot of the bad things going down these days.
Democracy can only be sustained by a moral, self reliant people operating on basic Christian principles
“60% of American adults under 40 say Jesus isn’t only way to salvation; equal to Buddha, Muhammad”
60% of American adults under 40 say Jesus isn’t only way to salvation and they are going to Hell
There, fixed it
I’d like to know how they chose their sample. Because belief in Christ and the Bible as basic scripture is pretty much a base line for “born again”, it seems to me.
The headline said “adult Americans”, and that might be true, that 60% are fuzzy on the basics. But if you are “born again”, pretty much by definition you will not be fuzzy on those basic issues. Or else “born again” doesn’t mean what the Post thinks it means.
i am not surprised they are incorrect about this
The shocking part is: 40% of Americans under 40 say Jesus is the only way to salvation.
60% of American adults don’t believe the Bible. 60% of American adults will be eternally regretful.
If this is accurate then 60% are dead wrong.
Great Awakening in the ‘70’s? I must have missed it.
My response is Buddha and Mohammed were existence was not prophesied for thousands of years before their birth.
Further, Jesus told us over and over again who he was. God the Son.
From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
The ones that were following Jesus expecting that He was all about feeding them and leading a rebellion against the Romans fell away when He started talking more bluntly about what He was really all about.
Of course there was likely more falling away after the crucifixion, but then there was the day of Pentecost.
As a Christian, I think that a revived interest in Christianity can be a great thing when it leads people to God. But just another snare when it becomes just what people want it to be for their worldly ends. There is no shortage of Prosperity Gospel preachers. Nor for our Jewish friends, any shortage of Orthodox Rabbis who make following all the rules of the Sabbath and horrendous amount of work. Nor of those that make religion their God, and thus no longer have God for their religion. Nor of those that water it down so that there is salvation with no real repentance or acknowledgment of the Holiness of God nor gratitude and acceptance for His sacrifice for our salvation.
So maybe it is not that there are necessarily more people in a good relationship with God during revivals, but that revivals are just something that come about every so often to remind or inform people of the eternal choice before their soul.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
According to Jesus Himself, salvation through Him is the only path to God.
I think most churches nowadays or at least many are pretty much teaching that. So soon that number should be even larger than 60% in the near future.
Maybe I’m silly but I think this started with GW Bush.
True. The commies have been very busy for decades.
RE: I think most churches nowadays or at least many are pretty much teaching that.
If so, then most churches are contradicting themselves.
Islam teaches that Jesus is NOT the son of God, nor did he die on the cross.
What Islam denies, are the central tenets of Christianity.
So, by teaching that both teachings lead to God, what kind of God do these churches believe in? A God who contradicts Himself?
Gee… WHY is the USA going crazy and losing EVERYTHING good we once had?
Thes “born again” christians obviously don’t read their Bibles.
God cannot and WILL not bless a people/nation who rejects Him.
I've come to hate the way term is used. Its like there are two classes of Christians, those who are born again and Christians who are not, which is total nonsense.
Hell Fire, no wonder this country is so messed up!!
