I feel no sympathy for the church anymore. They brought this upon themselves with their infiltration by pedophiles and acceptance of many evil things.
These Abrahamic religious are just mythology and crass superstition.
The Church had been useful in uniting Europe against Islamic expansionism and with undermining communism in Eastern Europe which is ironic as Jesus (Greek translation of Hebrew name Yeshua) was a proto-communist who condemned the rich and blessed the poor.
I would say that Christianity has outlived it’s usefulness. Time to relegate superstition to the dustbin of history and move on.
Yes, some clerics within the Church are terrible sinners. They will pay the price for their actions, and the Church as a whole will suffer the consequences. We are all responsible for our sins, and Catholics can have their sins forgiven through the Sacraments.
Why would someone allow sinners (influenced by the devil) to affect their relationship with God?
However, those that leave the Catholic Church will face the loss of their salvation. How does leaving the Catholic faith help one gain Heaven?
The Catholic Church founded by Jesus and He assured us that it will exist until the end of the age. The Sacraments were established by Christ that we need for our salvation. Baptism, Confirmation, Confession (Reconciliation) forgiveness of our sins, Eucharist (Jesus dwelling within us), Matrimony and Anointing of the Sick.
I want the graces from God that come with the Sacraments. Even when the clergy are serious sinners, they are acting for Jesus and the graces still flow to us.
The Catholic Church is OK — it’s sinners like McCarrick that give us a bad name.
IOW, you can’t say all Lutherans are bad and the Lutheran Church is doomed because of one sinner.
Likewise for the Catholic Church, founded by Christ, BTW.
When was your church founded and by which man or woman?
Are crime social or individual? To blame the entire Catholic Church for the crimes of individuals is no different than Critical Race Theory which blames all whites for the crimes of few.
