On July 16th, the Holy See publicized the motu proprio letter of Pope Francis, Traditionis custodes, whereby the Holy Father shares his dispositions on the celebration of Holy Mass according to the Roman Missal of 1962.
Since Traditionis custodes touches upon certain pastoral realities in this local Church, I am consulting with a number of people on the implementation of the Holy Father’s directives, including some priests who regularly celebrate Mass according to the 1962 Missal in their parish churches.
I aim to provide for the sacramental and pastoral care of the faithful of this local Church who are accustomed to worshipping at Masses celebrated according to the 1962 Missal, and to accompany them while weighing the Holy Father’s directive to narrow these celebrations.
For the time being, the celebration of Holy Mass according to the Roman Missal of 1962 may continue within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
How is "narrowing these celebrations" an "accompaniment"?
Ping
I guess it’s accompaniment analogous to how a prison chaplain accompanies a death-row inmate on his walk to the electric chair.
<...and to accompany them while weighing the Holy Father’s directive to narrow these celebrations.
How is “narrowing these celebrations” an “accompaniment”?>
He does not say he is “narrowing the celebrations.” He says he is “weighing” the Pope’s directive to do so. Meanwhile, not only is he not “narrowing,” but he is accompanying, being with, those who are continuing the celebrations. That, anyway, is my interpretation.
And Bergoglio doesn’t want Catholics to accompany homosexuals to reparative or conversion therapy, but to accompany them in their sinful sodomite lifestyles.
This is stunning; Crazy Frank took time out from halting the rising of the oceans, and of conservatives, to tend to a matter actually related to the Catholic Church.
Apparently you missed this part, “For the time being,…”.
very good!
