FWIW, Cronos, the behavior of JD Greear and the election of Ed Litton - in a vote that seems to have been manipulated by the “leadership” - has caused me to leave the SBC. I might at some date become a regular, supporting attender at a SBC congregation, but I don’t plan on becoming a member ever again.

I LOATHE people who are supposedly leaders in the SBC but who spend all their time sucking up to the media - and that IS JD Greear AND Ed Litton. Who, BTW, have been sharing sermons to include them preaching the same sermon on how Jesus “whispers” about sexual sins like homosexuality so we need to be in whisper mode too! Hey JD, maybe Jesus didn’t spend a lot of time discussing homosexuality because Jewish homosexuals in his day were killed by stoning!

And JD, I don’t think God “whispered” at Sodom and Gomorrah!

They both attack the SBC churches for sexual assault, but the investigation by the Houston Chronicle (6 months, two newspapers combinding resources) found 380 possible offenders (220 in jail, so only 160 POSSIBLE offenders not jailed) out of 45,000 churches. AND they included not just pastors, but ANYONE who volunteered in the church - so probably at least 500,000 possible suspects, over a 20 year period, and....380 plausible offenders, with 160 not in jail. That is 19 people a year out of 500,000+.

Not a perfect record, but sin is sin and eliminating it entirely isn’t possible. That is 0.004%, which is pretty good given that pedophiles target places like churches (all denominations) and schools. It means roughly one offender in every 2,000 churches, with many being volunteers.

It is worth trying to improve those numbers, but it is hardly a widespread sin in the SBC. But Litton and others don’t care. THEY have the media patting them on the back, like the lapdogs they are, while they downplay things like homosexuality!

Honestly? I’d bet pornography, adultery and gluttony are much bigger sin problems in the average SBC church than either racism or sexual assault. And speaking personally, as someone who is all too mortal, I have enough sin in my own life to repent of without trying to repent of other peoples’ sins! I can only dream of being so holy myself that I need to borrow other peoples’ sins to repent of!

Sorry for the long rant, and a somewhat off topic one at that. I’ve moved around a lot (military) and mostly been an SBC member for the last 40 years. But the SBC have a swamp just as muddy as DC does, and I’m tired of swamp creatures in the SBC being respected because they can fill a lot of pews by tickling the ears of modern man!

Best wishes to y’all. Please forgive my rant but I’m feeling the knife in my back and it hurts.

Free Presbyterian of Ulster, Free Presbyterian North America (from the Ulster group), and Bible Presbyterians (bpc.org) all claim to be Reformed.

We rarely use the word "fundamentalist" ourselves anymore. We don't fear derision, though.

When we use the word, we are referring to an on-going faithful adherence to the very fundamentals of the Christian faith. Christ's Deity, virgin birth, sinless nature, Atonement by the shed Blood of Christ at the Cross, His literal-bodily resurrection, Literal Heaven, Literal Hell, and so forth.

All of these are clearly stated in the doctrinal statement of those mentioned above.

Your opinion on that counts to me. Thank you for that information

I like the Free Presbyterian Church, and their 'What We Believe' Statement is spot on.
But I live in the Bay Area (California), and the nearest Free Presbyterian Church is either in Vancouver, Canada, or Phoenix, Arizona. Both a bit far away.
That said, I've enjoyed listening to several thousands of their sermons (Alan Cairns - gone to be with the Lord in November, 2020, John Greer, and recently Andrew Stewart) over the years. But, alas, I don't know any books from their organization on 'Social Justice'. I have all of Alan Cairns books, and one from John Douglas (a classic on Psalm 119), and a couple from Michael Barrett - but none of them on the subject of wokeness. Alan Cairns' tract titled 'A New Beginning' is great, but I can no longer find it in publication. You can download a pdf file though.

I know you were asking about books or tracts on 'wokeness', but if I might suggest - perhaps you could checkout www.Sermonaudio.com; and look at the 'sermons by topics' section and search on either 'Woke', or ' Social Justice'. They had a lot of sermons by John McArthur, and James White, that might be useful. And perhaps they might reference some books.
God Bless.
