Matthew 24
[3] And when he was sitting on mount Olivet, the disciples came to him privately, saying: Tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the consummation of the world? [4] And Jesus answering, said to them: Take heed that no man seduce you: [5] For many will come in my name saying, I am Christ: and they will seduce many.
During the period leading up to the Jewish-Roman War that culminated in the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D., there were several supposed messiahs in Judea who collected an army to fight the Romans. Every one of these messiahs was hunted down and killed by the Roman legions. Their followers were killed or sold into slavery. Josephus mentions these false messiahs: “Imposters and deceivers persuaded the multitude to follow them into the wilderness, and pretended that they would exhibit manifest wonders and signs that should be performed by the providence of God. And many that were prevailed on by them suffered the punishments of their folly” (AJ, XX, 8:6).
“At the time of the Jewish captivity, there were many leaders who declared themselves to be Christs, so that while the Romans were actually besieging them, there were three factions within” Jerome 350 AD.
Simon bar Giora (alternatively known as Simeon bar Giora or Simon ben Giora or Shimon bar Giora; died 71 CE) was the leader of one of the major Judean rebel factions during the First Jewish–Roman War in 1st-century Roman Judea, who vied for control of the jewish people.
But as for the Acrabbene toparchy, Simon, the son of Gioras, which means "The Strong", got a great number of those that were fond of innovations together, and betook himself to ravage the country; nor did he only harass the rich men's houses, but tormented their bodies, and appeared openly and beforehand to affect tyranny in his government. And when an army was sent against him by Artanus, and the other rulers, he and his band retired to the robbers that were at Masada ... josephus
Meanwhile, a large force of Idumeans had encamped outside the walls of Jerusalem, and were barred by the citizenry from entering inside the city, in hopes of preserving the peace. Members of the Zealot party secretly opened one of the gates to bring them inside, hoping thereby to augment their forces against the common enemy of Rome. Now outraged that they had been barred from the city by the citizenry, the Idumeans went about murdering the common people of the city, including two of Israel's High Priests, Ananus ben Ananus and Joshua ben Gamla.
This was as seen by John in his Revelation that the present made and burnt each others grain storage bringing famine
In this version, the word ‘seduce’ is used... in the KJV, the word ‘deceive’ is used. I think that both work well and complement each other.
The KJV version says this for the first few verses of Matthew 24: 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Verse 5 is speaking about this deception specifically relating to ‘false messiahs’. However, in conjunction with other verses in scripture, I’ve always believed that the deception referred to in verse 4 could be applied more broadly.... as in one would and should question everything around them. I often think of this when listening to CNN for example. Hey... of course it will be false because we are in the Age of Deception.
In this same vein, there is this passage in Revelation 13....Revelation 13:3 “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”
So when the Antichrist gets a ‘fatal head wound’ and comes back to life, this is the great imitator Satan giving his version of the resurrection of Christ. However, I suspect that this entire episode will be just another grand deception with ‘no actual head wound’... something for which the technology exists right now to make so real, now could tell the difference.
Regardless, I don’t plan to be around to watch that. I’ll be at a feast far far away...
Matthew 24:4 is specifically in response to the question about the destruction of the temple in 70 AD as we see in
Luke 21:5 [b]While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings, he said, 6 “All that you see here—the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”
The Signs of the End. 7 Then they asked him, “Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?” 8 He answered, “See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’[c] Do not follow them!
This is not about present day
Revelation 13:3 refers to Nero
Revelation was written during a time of persecution. Most evidence indicates that it was written during Nero’s persecution.
The “number of the beast” also points to Nero, since “666” is the numeric value of “Nero Caesar” in Hebrew. John’s frequent transliteration of Hebrew words, such as “Abaddon” (Rev. 9:11), “Amen” (Rev. 3:14), “Armageddon” (Rev. 16:16), and “Hallelujah” (Rev. 19:1), demonstrate that the author of Revelation often “thinks” in Hebrew. evidence that the early Christians saw “666” as Nero Caesar, is found in the fact that other early manuscripts often changed the number to 616, which is the numerical value of the Nero’s name in Hebrew according to its Latin spelling.
the depiction of one of the beast’s heads receiving a mortal wound, causing some to expect the downfall of the beast itself, is also reminiscent of Nero’s death. Nero was in the dynastic line of Julius Caesar, as all the Roman Emperors had been. This unbroken line of succession was a symbol of the stability of the Empire. The death of Nero was a near mortal blow. Nonetheless, the Empire recovered with the rise of Vespasian, regained its stability, and continued its dominance of the ancient world. This is very much like John’s vision. One of the beast’s heads—one of the kings—receives a mortal wound by a sword, just like Nero did (Rev. 13:14). Although all expect the beast to die, the beast recovers. Similarly, all expected the Roman Empire to fall with the death of Nero, yet the beast survived
Bill really waste the 1990s. He could have built a strong relationship with the Russians, removed troops from Saudi Arabia, preventing 9/11, built rules into the relationship with China.
But he did nothing

There’s an Antichrist around today that sells another Jesus and another gospel than the Scriptures and the Apostle Paul teaches.
This Antichrist’s HQ is even in Rome,so part of Daniel’s 4th Beast.
This Antichrist was labeled as such in the 1500s.
New martyrs swinging in the wind.
The dead eyes searching for messiahs in the stars.
The bodies carrying the scars of no confession, no concession.
No sympathy.
The laughter from the front row buzzing loudly now in bars, over chicken in a basket, in the darkest corners of the Central Station. Passing round the spirit that drove Rommel to his desert hole, smashed diamonds, stripped the gold from hidden cities in Brazil. And killed the savage in the name of Mary...
Burn the witch, whip the bitch who shows her ankles on the Sabbath. Bring the kids aged 1 to 63 - the family treat.
Maybe there will be a vision of messiahs in the stars.
Now all confess and make a wish. The priest is passing round the dish... our Lady’s selling tissues for the tears, for all the years of blessed rape in the name of our sweet lord.

In Matthew 24:2 Jesus points out the temple and tells the disciples that these buildings will all be knocked down.
The disciples asked three questions in verse 3…..
1. when shall these things be?
2. what shall be the sign of thy coming?
3. and of the end of the world?
With reference to question 3, since it is co-joined to question 2, if it is pulled apart like this, I think it could be rephrased “What shall be the sign of the end of the world?”
By way of comparison, this is the way it is phrased in Mark 13:4 “Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?”
And this is the way it is phrased in Luke 21:7 “And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?”
With reference to question 1, it seems quite logical that this is referring to the temple…..and this is worded almost identically for Matthew, Mark and Luke.
However, with reference to questions 2 and 3 in Matthew, this is quite different than the Mark and Luke passages… they just are asking about ‘a sign’ which seems to refer to the temple destruction that Jesus already referred to. However, the Matthew phrase of “sign of thy coming” infers that Jesus had already provided the teaching that he would be leaving and that he would be coming back. If looking at all the Gospels chronologically, had that teaching taken place yet? I don’t think that Jesus had yet presented his teaching about his departure (John 16:5-7). As for his arrival at the time of the temple destruction, that might have been prophesied in Zechariah 14 but only in the context of a destruction of Jerusalem….so I don’t think the Zechariah passage fits this if that is what the disciples were thinking about.
The bottom line is that Jesus didn’t answer the question of “when shall these things be?”…at least not directly. Since the temple destruction was only a scant few years later, why didn’t Jesus say, “it will happen within a generation?” Why did he instead answer the question by going off essentially on a tangent by saying “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” I think the answer is that while Jesus may have been answering their questions, he was doing so in a way that it would be applicable for a future time….
The question is this… If Jesus’s answer is referring to the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, is the rest of Matthew 24 all part of that answer? If it isn’t, in which verse does the time shift occur? There are many examples but just look at verse 14…. at what point in history could it be said that “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations”. Certainly not in 70 AD. It hadn’t even been preached yet in the known world, let alone ‘all the world’.
I don’t think that Revelation 13:3 is referring to Nero….
- Verse 3… “and all the world wondered”. This could not have been true until an age when telecommunications had advanced to the point where everyone could see it.
The 4th beast was the 4th kingdom that was destroyed by the rock hewn by no human hand. That rock that became a mountain was the church.
Delchiante, your preaching is similar to that of the false prophets and antichrists in 64 to 70 AD, only your message is even more nonsensical.
Since the temple destruction was only a scant few years later, why didn’t Jesus say, “it will happen within a generation?
The destruction was 40 odd years later, in one generation (a generation is 40 years to the ancients
The first question is answered in Luke 21:5–36, and the second is briefly answered in Luke 17:22–37.
The word “world” used here in the original Koine Greek is oikoumene which specifically means the civilized world according to the people of the Mediterranean.
Remember it is that the people wondered, not that they saw
The 4th beast is ROME. The little horn comes out of ROME and lasts until the end of the world at Christ’s second coming. The stone that smashes the statue and becomes a mountain that fills the entire earth is none other than Jesus Christ (symbolically).
Only a preterist would believe your nonsense. You, Cronos, belong to the preterist cult of Jesuit Luis De Alcazar, who fabricated the lie of preterism, in an attempt to deflect the charge that the Catholic church was the Antichrist power. What did the Protestant Reformers say to that? NO SALE, LIARS!

And Nero doesn’t add up to 666 in Roman numerals.
666 and CÆSAR NERO
Some will suggest that the book of Revelation was written only for those living at the time, and that 666 most probably applies to Cæsar Nero, who ruled Rome from 54 to 68 A.D., rather than someone from latter centuries. This point of view, which suggests Revelation had an immediate application to the first century, rather than being prophetic, is known as preterism, and is commonly held by the Catholic Church. So, just how is Nero linked to 666?
The preterist takes a relatively uncommon form of Nero’s name, Nero Cæsar or Cæsar Nero, and adds an “n”, resulting in Neron Cæsar. Next the Latin is transliterated into Aramaic, resulting in nrwn qsr, which when using the numeric equivalent of the letters, then adds up to 666 as follows:
Nun = 50
Resh = 200
Waw = 6
Nun = 50
Qoph = 100
Samech = 60
Resh = 200
An example of this spelling has apparently been recently discovered in one of the Dead Sea scrolls. If you use the same process, but without the added “n” the result is 616. Interestingly, some early manuscripts have 616 rather than 666, but even scholars such as Irenæus [A.D. 120-202] attribute the 616 to only a copyist error (Against Heresies: Book V Chapter XXX.), “this number [666] being found in all the most approved and ancient copies” [of the Apocalypse] and asserts that “men who saw John face to face bearing their testimony” [to it - 666].
There is a problem though with the above calculation. According to the rules of Jewish numerology, known as gematria, when the letter Nun appears a second time in a word, it is known as a “Final”, and takes the value of 700.* So to be precise, NRWN QSR actually adds up to 1316 and not 666.
*Source: Behind Numerology, by Shirley Blackwell Lawrence, copyright 1989, published by Newcastle Publishing Co., Inc., North Hollywood, California, ISBN 0-87877-145-X, page 41.
So the preterist calculation which attributes 666 to Nero, however, is nothing more than a rather desperate attempt to find some likely candidate for the Antichrist other than the Papacy.

YOUR CATHOLIC CHURCH IS THE ANTICHRIST POWER. Get used to it. Jesuit lies didn’t work on the Reformers and they’re not working now.
The word “world” used here in the original Koine Greek is oikoumene which specifically means the civilized world according to the people of the Mediterranean.
Nope!

Cronos,the bible predicted what would happen to the church.
Satan would be allowed in.
The staff the church carries became a serpent.
Cronos, maybe you are the Moses or Aaron to grab the serpent by its tail..
You have to accept the story as written, though.
And accept the church as a Babylon. A woman that rides a Beast.
But pride in ones church affiliation or denomination may hinder their ability to see or hear clearly.
Del, the bible predicted as in the past tense, what happened to the church before the destruction of the 2nd temple.
The mystery Babylon is clearly stated in Revelation 11:
8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which is allegorically called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.
The lord was crucified in Jerusalem.
Cronos, you are free to believe the church is only good and can’t possibly be deceived by Satan.
Today’s church is the first bride I’ve known that doesn’t know when their Bridegroom was born, nor the day their Bridegroom was slain.
Satan tells the deceived Bride December 25, and she believes it.
Scripture offers another day
Satan tells the deceived Bride false goddess Frigg day and she believes it.
Scriptures offer another day
People looking for false messiah’s, it would be quite a bummer to see that Satan has his own version of Jesus.
And Satan’s version is declared the gospel Truth by the Body that is supposed to know the Truth.
Satan’s falsehoods bought and sold by a Roman Beast, an Antichrist Papacy, and a bride today, that has a completely different Jesus than the first disciples did.
And Antichrist Islam and Antichrist Judaism wander after the same Beast.
But that’s the point of bible prophecy.
Satan deceives the whole world.
Today.
Satan deceived in the past and the present and will,up to a point, into the future.
After 2,000 years of doctrines of demons and 2,000 years of leaven (false doctrines), the Kingdom is completely leavened down here.
Satan gets locked away for 1,000 years, so Truth will be learned and followed.
But until then, Satan deceives the whole world.
Today wasn’t Sun day to the Father, Cronos.
It was Sun day according to Satan,Cronos.
The world proves daily who they wander after.
Even, and especially,the church.
You and I aren’t going to see bible prophecy the same way.
That’s okay.
Just don’t be surprised if when Babylon starts to fall, you find yourself clinging to false doctrines of demons that Scripture can expose as inherited lies.
I’ve done the testing and proving.
And was led out of Babylon.
For His Glory!
delchiante, the fact is that the Bible says that Christ inaugurated His kingdom at the pentecost and that this is His Church, the One Holy Apostolic and Catholic Church.
Satan tells you to disbelieve Jesus and the teachings He passed down through His apostles to the apostolic Church.
Satan’s falsehoods were bought and sold by your false taechings, an antichrist pastor.
Yesterday was Niedziela - the Lord’s Day. It’s “Sunday” in English - so junk that language
