Well yes true, but “the plan” here refers to what Satan might have had in mind, and Adam and Eve possibly had in heart, that if they became as gods, they would be equal in power to God, and so in their thinking, be able to expel Him from the Garden and rule it themselves. They didn’t like, perhaps, their subordinate position as His creatures.

There is no evidence Adam and Eve were not happy being subservient to God. God had been so good to them. He walked with them in the garden in the cool of the evening. They had all they needed in the garden. Eve was seduced by the color and aroma of the fruit and the words of Satan “That ye shall not die” and would make her wise. This was trickery. Lies from Satan meant to flatter and deceive.

As the “mother of all living” you might want to give both Eve and Adam a bit more respect. They were well aware of what was going on in the Garden and their ability to deal with it. All part of the plan from the beginning.
