The archbishop’s statement met with mixed comments, many decrying his tone because of its lack of clarity regarding the Church’s teaching on homosexual acts.
RIJEKA, Croatia, May 25, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Marking what is called the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT), the coadjutor-Archbishop of Rijeka, Croatia, begged forgiveness from homosexuals for the “rejection” they have experienced on the part of the Catholic Church. Archbishop Mate Uzinić published his statement on his personal Facebook page on May 17, invoking the spirit of the “ground-breaking” Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia to justify the move.
Mate Uzinić, 53, was the Bishop of Dubrovnik from 2011 to 2020.
Uzinić quoted paragraph 250 from Amoris Laetitia, which says: “The Church makes her own the attitude of the Lord Jesus, who offers his boundless love to each person without exception.”
He added: “In the spirit of Amoris Laetitia, section 250, we have a duty to respect ‘every person, regardless of sexual orientation … in his or her dignity and treated with consideration, while ‘every sign of unjust discrimination’ is to be carefully avoided, particularly any form of aggression and violence. Such families should be given respectful pastoral guidance, so that those who manifest a homosexual orientation can receive the assistance they need to understand and fully carry out God’s will in their lives.”
“I regret that there are still Catholics who do not agree with this,” he continued. “And especially that there are those who think they are serving Christ and the Church through discrimination, aggression and violence, insults and derogatory comments at the expense of homosexuals.”
He concluded: “I apologize to homosexuals for the fact that because of this they may still feel rejected by the Church, and that with their families, [with which] they still belong to the Church, which as a ‘family of.......

Sodomites are sacred objects in that religion.
The church does not reject homosexuals, it rejects homosexual acts
Sick. Evil sickness.
There are more than a few sexual acts that are sinful. In fact every single homosexual act is sinful. That must always be made crystal clear to those committing such sins.
The bible doesnt say to join with people engaging in openly public sinful lifestyles and encourage them to keep sinning
But by their words and actions they really aren’t referencing anything in there anymore, anyway
Come as you are
But you’re expected not to remain in your old sinful ways
Jesus did say a number of times He forgave blatant sinners and protected them from HYPOCRITICAL judgers,
But they always forget He always also said, Go and sin no more. They don’t like that part, sothey don’t include it. It means they have to change, they aren’t perfectly fine the way they are. None of us are for sure. But the difference is we are not out there opnely publicly endorsing our pet sins and behaviors. We are not demandig special treatments and laws for our weaknesses. We are not out there demanding schools teach and encourage kids to partake in our own moral weaknesses. We do not view our sins as positives or virtues. These people do. And its a fatal flaw in them, unrepentance, pride. Pride in their sin.
Thats the difference between saved people and unsaved. If their eyes open and they can recognize it, true repentance and fellowship is possible. Otherwise dont mingle with them.
Until the Christian religion — ALL of its sects — are purged of sin apologists and sin worshippers — it will continue to decay and rot. The goal of Satan.
Yeah, well if they’re all bent out of shape about”rejection” they should just wait to see what happens when they stand before God.
Actually, Scripture tells us to not associate with someone who calls themselves a brother (fellow Christian) who lives an immoral lifestyle.
“...regardless of sexual orientation.”
Strange, weird and sick.
Counter example: My nutrition orientation is toward the consumption of nails, glass and wood. Do I still get respect from the Catholic leader?
How can these people say they are rejected by the Church? Every time you turn around a bishop or priest is apologizing and groveling to them, the dioceses have special LGBT outreach programs, rainbow flags and pins abound, and homo men are in high positions of power in the vatican and in the orders.
