According to Chaplain Calvert’s attorney, such a reprimand over the expression of his ‘personal views on matters of public concern lacks any basis in law’ and is ‘unconstitutional.’
FORT HOOD, Texas, May 21, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A group of attorneys has come to the defense of a decorated U.S. Army chaplain who received a potential career-ending reprimand for stating his sincerely held convictions supporting the military’s ban of transgender individuals from the armed services.
First Liberty, which is dedicated “to defending religious liberty for all Americans,” is representing Chaplain Maj. Andrew Calvert, who was sanctioned by his superiors for comments on Facebook opposing the Biden administration’s intentions to revoke President Donald Trump’s ban on “transgendered” men and women serving in the military.
Calvert responded with candor to a January 25 article in the Army Times headlined “Source: Biden to drop Trump’s military transgender ban.”
The chaplain objected to the anticipated government policy change. “How is rejecting reality (biology) not evidence that a person is mentally unfit (ill), and thus making that person unqualified to serve. There is little difference in this than over those who believe and argue for a ‘flat earth,’ despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary,” Calvert wrote in his comment, according to Army Times.

The purges are under way.
He is supporting the military’s ban of transgender individuals from the armed services?
And the Army reprimanded him? For supporting the Army?
More lawfare used by democrat party operatives in the DoD.
New president reimplements the ban, then are they going to reprimand any soldiers making statements against the ban?
Building enemies within... this promoting diversity as a strength to the cynical/satirical point of coming out the seams is yet another Marxist scam the like of Global Warming and Mask mandates the military has started to adopt.
If someone can’t decide whether they believe they’re a man or a woman, that’s not someone we should be handing a weapon to and saying, “Go forth and represent our nation in battle!” That just makes us look like lunatics.
That aside, those who deny basic science and biology, which state that DNA is only male or female, several genetic anomalies notwithstanding, that is clearly someone who can’t separate reality from fantasy. We should not be enlisting those people, in the same manner which one would not enlist a schizophrenic. It’s dangerous, and the psychological side effects of hormone treatments can be immense. When I was on birth control, I had extremely low lows with depression and was prone to rage. It was not good.
