I'll start, Gen 6 and 10.
post it; I’ve not read it since it’s not in the Bible.
Not from the Bible but this dialog of Jesus and John the disciple in The Chosen while they are alone and trying to decide what reading Jesus would read in a Samaritan synagogue was profound. The whole scene was about John discovering the divinity of Christ.
Jesus: So do you have a favourite passage from the first five?
John: um do you?
Jesus: I don’t know I like them all
John: You don’t say
I suppose I love the beginning I love how God simply spoke and and the world came into being
Jesus: Yes As David wrote by the word of the lord the heavens were made
John: You know the Greeks use word to describe divine reason...what gives the world form and meaning.
Jesus: I like that...it is a favourite memory
Second half of Romans 1. Tells us exactly where we are now as a civilization - and why.
I like Chapter 4 of the Book of Ruth.
Acts ch. 2 - Christ’s promise to build His church begins
Romans 8
Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5.
The Book of Ruth. What a great story of love, loyalty and faith. Coming home, as I did with going back to church in 30 years. I wept when on my first Sunday back the pastor talked about Ruth. I had come home to the Lord.
PSALM 91 - GOD’S umbrella of protection for such a time as this
Genisis 3
John chapter 10.
Sermon on the mount Matthew 5-7
I would imagine you would pick Esther! She was a spitfire as you are! 😊
I’ve been studying the Book of John for this year with online study. It’s been amazing.
Romans 7-8
About the struggle within and freedom
Decisions, decisions...
Lots to choose from as they all deal with very different topics and scenarios.
I have to go with Psalm 139 for now.
“She was a spitfire as you are!”
LOL! She IS my tagline, after all.
Imagine my PCP’s face last week when I told her I didn’t want the vaccine and she said something with the word, “fatal”, in it. She probably hadn’t ever heard, “If I die, I die” from a patient before me. (She’s very young.)
I spent 18 months in those two chapters for my own edification.
Romans 8:1 is like a glorious sunrise after a dark and dangerous night.
All of Nehemiah.
Amen!
Isaiah40, John 1, Isaiah 53, Ephesians 6, Psalm 139, Psalm 91, and Job (I know my Redeemer lives!) are all springing to my mind right now.
Haha! You’re a “pistol”! 😆
I grew up with women like that all my life.
