It's A Secret. You're Not Supposed To Know . . . .

Posted on 04/08/2021 6:32:37 AM PDT by JAG 5000

. . .You're not supposed to know things that God does not want you to know, and God obviously does not want you to know everything.

This fact --- that there are some secrets that God does not want you to know --- is one major reason why "without faith it is impossible to please God."

You must exercise faith because the truth is you will, for certain, live out your life in the dark regarding the answers to many of your questions "for now we see through a glass darkly."

"Have faith in God." ___The Lord Jesus Mark 11:22

"It is not for you to know"__The Lord Jesus Acts 1:7

"The secret things belong to God." __ Deut. 29:29

You heard about that cat, his name was Garfield, that died from curiosity. So just say no to feline-inquisitiveness -- not even nine lives could save Garfield.

Besides if you knew everything you'd be as smart as God. You don't want to be as smart as God, do you.

"My cerebrum is twitching", said Henry, "and I crave to know it all." "But", muttered Henry's wife, "nobody likes a Know-It-All."

So give it up.

Henry's cerebrum said to Henry's cerebellum, "We both are pulsating vigorously in anticipation as we crave to come to know all secrets."

"Wait a minute", spoke up Henry, "didn't you just hear that the secret things belong to God. What's the matter with you two.

"Why do you speak to the people in parables?", asked Jesus' disciples. Jesus replied, "Because the knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom Of Heaven has been given to you, but not to them."

Why not to them? Because they were the type of people that were "ever learning but never perceiving . . . for this people's heart has become calloused." Matthew 13:14-15

So we, you and I, do not want to choose to be like those calloused people -- rather we want to choose to "have faith in God" and wait patiently until we get to Heaven to have our questions answered.

But right now there are many secrets afoot.

__________________________

However here is some good news . . . .

Not everything is a secret.

Everything you need to know to get Eternal Life has been made crystal-highly-transparent-glass-clear.

And when you die and enter Heaven you can then get into learning some really cool new stuff big time.

Just think what you could do with an enhanced brain in a new glorified body with a new cranium happily housing your new glorified network of neurons sparking along 24/7/365.

Why you'd soon be as wise as Solomon.

Back to secrets . . .

"It is no secret what God can do. ♫ ♫

What He's done for others, He'll do for you.

With arms wide open, He'll welcome you.

It is no secret what God can do." ♫ ♫

And it is no secret that "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life."

So?

So we never have to experience the perish of John 3:16 for the Lord Jesus stands at the door knocking and whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

No, God obviously wanted us to know about those, and many other things as well.

Sometimes I’ve heard folks opine that our first parents had been set up to fall as a defense for, not what Adam and the woman did, but for what people are doing today (as if the assertion it was somehow stacked against them that makes everything people don’t want to repent of now okay).

To this suggestion I say “nertz!”

What Adam and the woman had was a relationship with the Lord and with that the ability to trust Him.

The temptation of the woman was at a minimum to not trust the report she had been given concerning the command to not eat of that tree and Adam’s temptation had been to trust his own eyes and the woman. In both cases they were not trusting the Lord.

Now, rolling forward to our time, many people have great trouble with the substitutionary atonement, with Christ taking our place and Him giving us a share in His.

Looking at the passage that says to enter the Kingdom you have to be like a child ... well, what do little children do? They trust their parents.

Yes, there are hard things and things that on human terms that people have been convinced may look dodgy ... but to whatever we might protest the Father can say to us: “I understand, but I tell you that what the Son did on the cross and that He rose again deals with that. Do you trust me that it’s so?”

His children will trust Him.

Trust doesn’t mean you know everything or even will ever know everything ... it is just trust in whom you are trusting.

And in this case it is a trust that, because of what Christ has done which we are trusting in, ultimately heals even the fall itself.

Usual cop-out to the question, ‘why?’, when a religious leader hasn’t got a clue!!

It is apparent that the writers of the earlier books of the OT thought the earth was flat and that another “solid surface” was above them, held up by pillars we call mountains.

He wasn’t “hiding” anything. He simply was not giving 24th century knowledge to them. And he’s not imparting it on us either.

We get to find out for ourselves. But then, that is about science. Science is about “how” things work. The important knowledge he’s giving us is “why” we are here. And that is the higher pursuit.

Yep. I’ve come across quite a few religious leaders that will just start making it up when you get past what they have been told by their teachers. There is so much to understand in the bible, though the basic message is very simple. The problem is that too often we just don’t even try to get past that basic message. But through study of the historical context from which every book in the bible came, coupled with prayer and APPLICATION of His instruction in our day to day lives, you can answer these questions better than a LOT of “religious leaders”.

I was once told by a fellow in music ministry who had worked at both large and small churches, some with extremely well educated members, this: The more one understands the books of the bible and their source, the less sure they are of any of their opinions about its content - with the exception of the gospel, itself. That one is loud and clear.

Of
Course.

I was being sarcastic. Also about black holes, quantum physics and possibly a ‘Unified Theory’ (if that is possible)

‘The gospels’, if written right, should dovetail. They don’t.
