Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 23
Psalm 23 A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The feelings of loss, abandonment, loneliness, and disappointment in the days between the Crucifixion and The Resurrection must have been unbearable. Not only had their Master had been brutally executed, thought the followers of Jesus, but it looked like they were going to be next. Many went into hiding. There may have been some who lost their faith. It looked as though Darkness would overcome the Light.
It is very difficult to see beyond circumstances, but we must cling to the Promise of God. And remember, without a "Good Friday" there can be no "Easter". Unless a seed falls into the ground and dies, it can't be born again as a plant that bears fruit.
It is easier to have faith when everything is going well. The real test of faith comes when everything seems to be going wrong!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America!

Psalm 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness.
2 Why should the nations say,
‘Where is their God?’
3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases.
4 Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
5 They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6 They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7 They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
they make no sound in their throats.
8 Those who make them are like them;
so are all who trust in them.
9 O Israel, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
11 You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord has been mindful of us; he will bless us;
he will bless the house of Israel;
he will bless the house of Aaron;
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord,
both small and great.
14 May the Lord give you increase,
both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
16 The heavens are the Lord’s heavens,
but the earth he has given to human beings.
17 The dead do not praise the Lord,
nor do any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord
from this time on and for evermore.
Praise the Lord!

Amen.
If we looked only to the leafless Winter trees, the black of a starless night, the pain of a stubbed toe, the two year old’s “I hate you.” we would be without hope. The Truth that Jesus was resurrected with power, that Spring brings buds, the sun rises daily and that physical and emotional pain is temporary keeps us in hope for the future. In the same way, we look with sure faith to the power of Light, Life, Love to overcome the darkness, death and hatred that are the hallmarks of our enemy.
