I was once a waif left on the street as a little girl unaware that there were prowling predators that saw me as their next meal to consume in lascivious deprived animal instincts, In filthy rags I fought to make my way out of the city and with a last burst of desperation for survival found a green glow of light. I heard a voice, “little child, little girl; follow the sound of my voice”.
I followed the voice, but the predators seeing their meal ticket escaping tried to grab me and take me back but a Hero rose from I knew not where and fought off those who meant me harm. He said “let the children come to me”.
He carried me to a stream of soft flowing clean water and baptized me. All the filth and fear was washed away and flowed down the current. My body was clean but inside I felt stained and hurt.
John, when he baptized Jesus, saw the heavens open and saw God's Spirit in the form of a dove descend on Him and John heard a voice saying “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”.
The Hero gave me garments of shimmering white and he told me “I am a king and I have a kingdom and I live in a castle but I have no daughter, I would like you to become my daughter.” “Would you like to become a princess?” The king was so gentle and kind. I have saved you from a kingdom of darkness, now let us journey on to my kingdom of light.
He carried me in His arms as we left the city. Soon, we came to a valley; a meadow full of wild flowers greeted my eyes. I had never seen a flower; birds and butterflies danced in balmy sweet air. Then set me down in the warm grass and He opened a pouch and gave me some delicious bread and opened a flask of refreshing wine. We ate in simple pleasure and He told to me to always remember this time.
But then it was time for the next part of our travels. He pointed to a tall gray castle set high on a hill off in the distance. We heard wolves howling in the woods and He told me “what you are about to see will be hard for you to understand, but just trust that I have saved you so far and I will keep on saving you”. We journeyed on and soon came to the castle, the wolves kept coming closer and sounding more ferocious. Once we arrived at the castle there was a river circling the castle that I could not cross and I asked how will we get in?
The wolves came snarling, teeth bared, trying to tear me away from my Hero. My king took me in his arms and held me above the reach of the snapping jaws and laid His body down across the raging flow to allow me to cross.
The wolves bit and tore at him and his body was ripped into as I reached the other side in safety. I cried at his pain. I cried to Him “save yourself come across with me” He replied “I cannot, I love you, and there is a whole world of lost waifs that still need to have a king to find and rescue them.”
A trumpet sounded, “the King has returned with his child” was proclaimed by servants. A big gate was opened and suddenly from within flew out flaming bright and sharp two-edged swords which fought off the wolves. As we entered the castle I saw that the walls were shimmering like pearls and the marvelous beauty of everything amazed me.
The pain I felt inside was now gone. Beautiful women dressed as comely maidens came and told me “welcome home, and now we must show you what it means to be a princess”. “All you ever hoped for and dreamed of will become a part of who you are now”.
A rainbow of colors came from the throne and I asked what they were? One woman told me “they were the tears you cried, collected by the King and held in crystal bottles to be saved as perfume that is a mist of crushed roses of the little girl, they are now a graceful flagrance for a woman who was always meant to be a princess”.
I searched for the King; He came to me in an aura of light. He saw me in my newly created form, and said “beloved daughter”. He opened his arms and held me and said “child welcome home, I am your true and loving Father”. I laid my head on His heart and for the first time ever I knew what love felt like.
My spirit began to become light, the heavy burdens of the past were removed, and I floated in the fragrance of flowers. The rose had lost it's thorns and bloomed in soft velvety petals of blood red!
There was a room prepared for me; there were fabrics were like chiffon, and it was like a bed of clouds. I heard singing that touched every soul of all the people of the world: “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive glory and honor and praise”. I began to sing and knew that I had to write the song into a story that would help guide my other waif friends still lost in the world as the King searched for them.
That night I slept safely in a tower. “The Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are safe”.
Sorry, what was the point/reason of this story on FR other than vanity?
I think the point is you can find refuge in Jesus.
If you missed the point, could I suggest reading it again?
Thank you......
Your question explains why many of the Jews never understood Christ’s parables.
Beautiful.
