Vatican statement on same-sex marriages seen as 'harsh, judgemental'
Monsignor Clement Connolly, pastor of Holy Family parish in South Pasadena, gave a 19-minute sermon on Sunday, March 21 at 9:30 a.m. Mass about the recent Vatican statement refusing to approve blessings for same-sex marriages:
“The language of the document is harsh, judgmental, and somewhat draconian….
“This document reinvigorates a past reference to say, persons who belong to the LGBTQ+ community are objectively disordered. Who among us would believe that God made a mistake? In the act of creation somehow God must have made a mistake. We have somebody who is objectively disordered. Don’t we believe that each person is a precious child of God?
“Because I’m heterosexual, attraction to a man is unnatural. But to a homosexual person it’s natural. Who am I to stand in judgement because of my orientation?…”
The above YouTube video posted on the parish website, was sent on March 23 by a California Catholic reader.
From a March 23 story on LifeSiteNews:
Paulist Father Gilbert Martinez, pastor of The Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Los Angeles, said in his Sunday homily that it was “very, very sad” that the Vatican, in his words, told “lesbian people” that the Church “could not bless their weddings, their marriages.”
He said that love justifies whatever kind of sexual relationship someone may be in. He did not say if this applies to members of the North American Man/Boy Love Association who work to abolish age-of-consent laws criminalizing adult sexual involvement with minors in the name of love.

If the Church, any church, is unwilling to exercise judgment on matters of obedience to God, then why bother having a church?
Jesus is a moron and so are the apostles..They need to come have a talk with the real Catholic compassionate people..The ones that allow abortion, same sex marriage and pedophilia....The bible is outdated and needs to be rewritten.....
And these people are suppose to be emissaries for God.? Teachers of the Gospel?? I don't think so.....
Lots pf pedophiles say God made them that way..,So,raping children must be natural, right FR.Matinez?????
Anyone who publicly makes a statement in favor of homosexuality should be required to make a statement in favor of anal sex. Because if God didn’t make a mistake when he made gays, then it is not a mistake for gays to engage in their form of intercourse.
Thid heretic will have lost souls among his congregants to answer for.
*This
exactly.
Prescinding the question of whether same sex attraction is innate or the result of childhood trauma, did the good Monsignor never hear about Original Sin and the resulting corruption of human nature?
Dude needs another line of work.
If the Church, any church, is unwilling to exercise judgment on matters of obedience to God, then why bother having a church?Because being a priest beats working and provides access to fresh meat. Yes, I expect the organization is corrupt enough that sodomites join the priesthood in the first place for just that reason.
I say the organization rather than the church, because somewhere out there is still the church.
Lord, save us from witless wonders who are speaking nonsense, solemnly and loudly. Amen.
What ignorance or arrogance by this so-called lord! No, GOD DID NOT CREATE HOMOSEXUALITY AND HOMOSEXUAL PEOPLE any more than he created pyromaniacs, , which is blasphemous. Instead, God who at the beginning made them male and female and one flesh in marriage, (Gn. 1:26,27; 2:24) provided man with freedom of will, to obey or to disobey, and with blessing for the former or negative consequences for the latter. And since man choose to engage in the disobedience then man has a sinful nature, meaning with a proclivity to sin and to pervert what God has ordained. And among other perversions of the devil and human nature, homosexuality and its relations are a perversion of what God ordained. And which means there is only one option for such, which is that of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and seeking deliverance as needed.
