Bill Dempsey: "The issue here, of course, is one of scandal."

Bill Dempsey, chairman of Sycamore Trust, is rallying University of Notre Dame alumni to oppose inviting unelected Joe Biden to be this year's commencement speaker.

Dempsey: "It's an action by the country's most prominent Catholic university in honoring the most, I think, the most formidable adversary that the Church has at the present time on issues of abortion and of marriage and of sex and of gender."

Sycamore Trust sprung into action when Notre Dame president Rev. John Jenkins revealed in an interview with Crux magazine that the university is considering inviting fake Catholic Biden.

Dempsey: "The question is whether Notre Dame should honor somebody with ... Biden's record of being very much pro-abortion and anti-religious liberty."

In May 2009, despite Barack Obama's radical pro-abortion stance, Notre Dame invited him to give the commencement address and presented him with the customary honorary doctorate.

Dempsey: "At that time there were 83 cardinals, archbishops and bishops — including Notre Dame's bishop John D'Arcy — who weighed in against Notre Dame on that occasion. When has that ever happened before at a Catholic university?"

Biden came out in favor of same-sex marriage back when Obama was still pretending to be against it, forcing his hand. The Democratic Party has become even more extreme in its positions since 2009.

I’ll be impressed if Notre Dame alumns could actually disuade their alma mater from giving Biden a platform to speak there.

What they won’t say is that Notre Dame University is about as Catholic as the university of Baghdad. This is the school where priests were arrested and manhandled for kneeling and praying on campus.
