But had you and Elton bothered to actually READ THE STATEMENT.....which includes:

"The presence in such relationships of positive elements, which are in themselves to be valued and appreciated, cannot justify these relationships and render them legitimate objects of an ecclesial blessing.....

So while we can indeed appreciate, and VALUE Elton and the boys - not just musically and cinematically.... it's just not possible to square their desires under the teachings of the Church, hence the impossibility of receiving a blessing based on that Church teaching.... which if the Church in fact did- would therefore actually be a true Hypocrisy untoward the Teaching of the Church....
So I just can't share your concerns of hypocrisy on this....

Once upon a time, the Catholic Church appreciated and valued the young Catholics who remained celibate until marriage (to a member of the opposite sex).
