Her life-long search for salvation and understanding led her across the globe, ultimately bringing her to a very unexpected place: As a practicing Jew on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Angela’s memoir “A River Could Be a Tree,” out on November 13th by Fig Tree Books, recounts that journey. For more, visit angelahimsel.com or figtreebooks.net.
Apparently she gave up on her search.

“...Manhattan’s Upper West Side...”
There’s her problem right there.
Probably voted for Killer Kuomo.

Herbert W. Armstrong’s church? Garner Ted Armstrong’s church?
The RADIO and TV shows THE WORLD TOMORROW? THE PLAIN TRUTH?(It wasn’t)
Nothing in the article to mention these two.

The Worldwide Church of God was a hard-core legalistic group, and the most amazing thing happened after H.W.Armstrong died.
NEVER seen it before.
The WWCoG abandoned its many errors and found the grace of God, and as far as I can tell, are now, as the Grace Communion International, very sound in their theology and do indeed teach the grace and love of God.
All I’ve heard about them is quite wonderful, but know none personally - just some friends of friends.....

If she’s still a feminist, she’s not an Orthodox Jew.
