I don’t quite get what the author is trying to say but I’ll trust MacArthur any day.
He is my favorite. I watch 3-5 of his sermons a day - I prefer meat and potatoes to the crap that those like Osteen teach.
It will be helpful for you to read this article first before you can fully understand what this author is trying to rebut:

I attended a service at MacArthur's church last year, just before WuFlu struck. Although he's a Calvinist and I'm a Wesleyan, I was very impressed with his sermon as well as his use of traditional sacred music.

Likewise.
It seems to be that the author is saying John Macarthur is against religious freedom.
Religious freedom is critical - I’ve seen the treatment of Christians in Saudi Arabia where any religion except Islam is illegal. That is horrific.
I’ve seen Christians in Iran who can practice their religion in peace but cannot talk about it to anyone and conversion from Islam is illegal.
Religious freedom is critical - we have too many differences to have it otherwise.
Wholeheartedly AGREE! I have listened to Dr. “Johnny-Mac” since my college days in the 80’s.
