I was not trying to find an answer to why. I was challenging the accuracy of his statement.
Actually, there is a good answer to it.
Yes, God killed innocents with the Great Flood. No, God was not wrong in doing so.
Life--every life--is God's to do with as He wills. That is why "Thou Shalt Not Kill" is a commandment to us. Others' lives are not ours to take. Our lives are not ours to take, thus suicide is covered in that as well.
However, since God created all, every life is God's to do with as He pleases. We are not the Potter, and the clay should not question the Potter as to His will with the clay.
