Jehovah’s Witnesses Leader: COVID-19 Signals the “Last Day of the Last Days” rapture
Patheos ^ | 20 march | He meant mehta

Posted on 02/27/2021 1:36:09 PM PST by Cronos

In case you’re wondering how some religions are coping with the outbreak of COVID-19, just look to the Jehovah’s Witnesses to see how absurd reactions can get.

In a recent video featuring Governing Body member Stephen Lett, he absolutely delights in the disease because he sees it as a signal that Armageddon is imminent.

So the events unfolding around us are making clear, [more] than ever, that we’re living in the final part of the Last Days. Undoubtedly, the final part of the final part of the Last Days, shortly before the last day of the Last Days.

The law is not our savior...Jesus Christ is.

Again, I agree with you 100%

You aren’t the one keeping his commandments...he is.

Nope. God doesn’t force you to do anything you don’t want to and we all have free will. We are not robots. The only ones keeping the commandments are the ones that want to and have asked God for help in doing so.

Rev 22
14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Of course...how would we know that we need Christ if it weren’t for the law showing us what we’re breaking? ...Without the law how can you call anything a sin against a Holy God?..... Further there’s no need for a savior if we’re not sinning against Him.....Additionally since you are guilty even in the least of area of the law you’re guilty of all the law so there’s really no escape for anyone....and especially if you think your righteous in any of it.....because it’s written all our righteousness is a filthy rags. Therefore all are under the wrath of our Holy God for their sins without Christ saving them from that.

Ask for forgiveness and ask God to help you conquer your sin.

Of course we choose to follow his lead or not.... That’s not following commandments that’s living by faith as He leads us to do His will.... Corey lied to the Guestapo to protect the Jews she was hiding.....but she still ‘lied’....that would be breaking the command not to lie... But she walked by faith.

If you love God you will keep his commandments. If you say you love him but don’t keep his commandments, you are a liar. That is very clear from the bible. Even someone who may have eaten lead paint chips as a child/young adult can understand that (not talking about you).

Phil, your mocking and badgering are revealing the spirit that is within you. Is that sin? ... How righteous are you Phil?

If you have been norn again then the Spirit of God abides in your spirit and IT cannot sin because God is there. The flesh? Not so much, it is trained to sin.

The Word of God tells you that it is God Who is in the Believer, both to will and do of HIS good pleasure. So the righteousness of Christ has been IMPUTED to the one who is born again. How much righteous then must be added to that boirn again spirit to obtail eternal life?

Answer honestly, Phil. You know the answer to that even if you refuse to acknowledge it because your mind of the soul is stuck in the false rutt of 'working to retain salvation'. Your continued drone about saved by faith judged by the law isa gross error as revealed with the truthful answer to my question to you of how much must be added to RETAIN eternal life.

BTW, your childish inferences are another indication of the spirit that is within you.

This is an utterly ridiculous statement. You either sin or you don’t. You make it sound like someone with multiple personalities....one of the other ones is sinning and not you.

Getting back to Ravi. Is rape a sin?

So now you want to focus on Ravi and attack the Gospel of The Grace of God by beating that dead horse? Phil, do you need a nap?

I have answered that question many, many times. And, I literally just answered it a few posts ago. Here it is again for you. Try to remember it.

John 15
9As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. 10If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

That is how you RETAIN eternal life. You obey him out of love for what he did for you on the cross. You are showing him that his death and resurrection means something to you. PROVE IT TO HIM.

If rape is a sin, then how can a “born again” like Ravi, sin? THAT IS WHAT YOU SAID, RIGHT?

If Ravi didn’t sin, then in your twisted reasoning rape isn’t a sin. Right?

How righteous are you Phil? How much have you proven you accept His Grace if you think you are man enough to retain it by your filthy rags works? I realize that you are unable to discern your insistence is works for eternal life by another name. It is why you are in the seveneth day adventist cult to start with. Now I’m going to take a nap with my kitties.

The spirit of the born again cannot sin because God’s Life is abiding in that newborn spirit, IRREVOCABLY.

So for argument’s sake lets say that Ravi did a lot of raping (and all the other bad stuff he’s accused of doing). So according to you he gets a free pass because his flesh sinned and not his spirit? Do you see how ridiculous that sounds?

Jesus fulfilled the Law and by His grace, He endows those who place their faith in Him and His sacrifice on the cross with that perfect righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

His righteousness is credited to the account of the believer upon exercising saving faith. The debt we owe for our sin has been erased by Jesus death and God considers us sinless and can relate to us that way.

Colossians 2:13-15 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

Colossians 2:16-23 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.

If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations— “Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” (referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.

Colossians 3:3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Jesus said this about Law keeping..

Matthew 5:17-20 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Does your righteousness exceed that of the pharisees?

Don't forget that if you lust, you commit adultery and if you hate you murder.

Law keeping could possibly be done by some with enough strength of will, but if the heart is not right, then it's all for nothing.

Luke 18:9-14 He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Besides, it's not possible for you to keep the entire Law. The Temple doesn't exist any more.

Say, aren't you the guy so hung up on Sabbath keeping who posts on FR on the Sabbath?

You have't seen the hypocrisy of that yet?

P,

I wish you well and appreciate you as a FReeper, but I generally don’t respond to your posts.

Mainly because you are in a pseudo/Christian religion and don’t appear open to truth.

Please do me a favor and do not ping me.

Thank you.

How righteous is anyone? I don’t know. But, I remain humble, follow the word of God, and ask that Jesus Christ represents me as my advocate in the judgment. I pray that I’m found worthy of eternal life.

Keeping God’s commandments are filthy rags works?

Sounds like you and your buddies have nothing to worry about. I’m happy for you. Good luck with everything.
