Greear, who pastors The Summit Church, a North Carolina megachurch, defended his three years as the denomination’s president and the convention’s growing diversity. But he said political divides were distracting the convention from its mission work.
...In recent months, Southern Baptist leaders have been embroiled in a debate over critical race theory, an academic framework that seeks to explain systemic racism
...While he said that he agreed with some of the concerns about CRT, he also lamented that criticism of it had alienated people of color and he pledged to work harder on racial reconciliation.
Some Southern Baptist leaders, including Greear and ethicist Russell Moore, have been accused of leading the denomination in a “liberal direction” because of their openness to addressing issues of race and social justice. Others were criticized for not being supportive enough of Donald Trump.

Duhh!
He sent Jesus. To save sinners. But WaPo probably chose to omit that part of the message.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind ...
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Preach the Word, pastor! That other stuff is not God's work.
Highly compromised by Satan and his daemons? A long long way from the tradition. Caused by what has been said to be the greatest fraud foisted by the Devil.
To quote Billy Graham (light years brighter than this fake wannabee mega church hypocrite):
“It’s often been said that one of the devil’s greatest tricks is to convince people that he doesn’t really exist—and it’s true.
But Satan really does exist—just as surely as God exists. And he isn’t just a vague, impersonal force; he is a real person—that is, he has a real personality. Just as you and I can think and make decisions and act, so Satan can think and make decisions and act. The difference is that everything he does is evil—without exception—because he is totally opposed to God. In ways that are largely hidden from us, Satan is in constant cosmic battle against God. He is not, and can never be equal to God.
The Bible says, “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against… the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). By His death and resurrection Jesus Christ overcame all the powers of death and evil, and some day His victory will be complete.”
His statement would carry more weight if he weren’t promoting lies that are contrary to God’s Word.
“It’s often been said that one of the devil’s greatest tricks is to convince people that he doesn’t really exist”
This is true, it took him a long time to pull it off, but with the help of the godless commies, by gum he did it.
Baptist schools like Baylor have been corrupted by social justice.
Left-wing pastor denounces ‘straight white men’ during Christian college commencement prayer — and gets cheers from crowd

Greear is on record as encouraging “pronoun hospitality,” using the blasphemous, incorrect references of femininity toward a cross dressing degenerate man in the midst of their congregations. This marks him as an enemy of God in my book, I hireling that doesn’t deserve the trust of any Baptist.
The last stronghold of mainline Christianity collapses
My family and I and our friends agree that the Lord lives within us, we have prayer meetings and share and talk of the Lords Words.
Nowhere in the bible does it say to us that we are to use a structure to pray to Him, nor to pay for the effort of doing so.
We cannot find anything that says we should believe the prince of darkness and lies.
And finally we cannot find one word that states we should go woke to be able to follow the Lords words.
May God give you All His Blessings.
Don't start to panic yet.
We have one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, not the SBC.
God surely did. He called every believer to preach the word.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Matthew 24)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16)
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1)
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? (1 Corinthians 3)
Who is Greear?
Actually we are asked for a structure
Matthew 18:[20] For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
You are correct
Bless you and your family and friends
“His statement would carry more weight if he weren’t promoting lies that are contrary to God’s Word.”
One would think that, out of all their members, the Southern Baptists could come up with a leader who doesn’t support the Gay Agenda.
Is it really THAT HARD to find these people? Rush had 20 million of them listening to his show. There really are normal people out there who can lead organizations.
The leadership echelons of MANY organizations are subject to the Deep State...just sayin’
My question was rhetorical. Greear is only a man.
He demonstrates a reprobate spirit. (A spot in our feasts of charity — Jude).
