27 talks about coming in a cloud.

This is similar to where we read that “the Lord is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence” (Isa. 19:1–2).

In the fulfillment of this passage in Isaiah 20:1–6, God comes to judge the false idols—in the form of the Assyrian army.

God promises He is coming to Egypt, and the Egyptians witness a conquering army. The Assyrian army is the physical evidence that God came “on a swift cloud.” God’s judgment came in the form of the Assyrian army’s killing, pillaging, and conquering. Notice the similarity of the Old Testament language in Isaiah, “The Lord is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt,” to Daniel’s description, “With the clouds of Heaven there came one like a son of man”

The passage in Luke about coming on a cloud is similar and signifies judgement.

Daniel’s “Son of man” was publicly recognized as the victor at the judgment of the Sanhedrin in 70 A.D. This is the point at which Christ was vindicated as Judge of His accusers, and the Kingdom was publicly given to the saints, as Daniel’s vision foretold. “The greatness of the kingdoms under the whole Heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom” (Dan. 7:27).

The “clouds of Heaven” symbolize the majesty and glory of the Son of man when He judges His enemies.

This is exactly what Jesus predicted when He stood before those very men: “You will see the Son of man … coming on the clouds of Heaven” (Matt. 26:64). Luke 19:41–44 draws this connection clearly. “When [Jesus] … saw the city, He wept over it, saying … ‘The days shall come upon you, when your enemies will cast up a bank about you and surround you, and hem you in on every side … and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation.’ ”

The Sanhedrin’s rejection of their Messiah had consequences.

His enemies saw the glorious power of Christ when He judged Jerusalem in 70 A.D. The same Christ whom they had rejected was publicly exalted by God the Father. Finally, at the second advent, this same Christ will return in glory for all to see. All will be rewarded for their loyalty, or punished for lack of it.

> can’t see anything about the “sons of Issachar.”

Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command; I Cron. 12:32

The sons of Issachar could interpret the signs, times and seasons so that Israel would be prepared. In the same way Christians can be given insight by God under the banner of the sons of Issachar, in order to prepare the Church.

Very encouraging report. That Hope is drawing near.

Two things I would add for further understanding is the Dispensations and the clarification to who is the author of each message speaking to.

As many are already aware, but for those who are not I present the following...

Since the Day of Pentecost we have been living in the church age dispensation. That Dispensation is about to close as the focus will then be on the Jews. We are living in a time when the two Dispensations are overlapping. At the close of the Church Age (in my belief) we, the Church, will be raptured. And at the beginning of the Seventieth Week of Daniel, it will begin with the rise of the antichrist as well as the signing of a false peace covenent with Israel.

Also, it is incumbant that we understand the message of Grace was revealed to Paul to give to the Church. He was chosen as the Apostle unto the Gentiles.

Whereas the OT as well as the Gospels were given to the Jews. As well they give us, the Gentiles, understanding.

Yes, the age of grace, can it be as simple as 2,000 years? Consider:

Beginning of the 70 year captivity, 607 BC,
The sacking of Jerusalem, 587 BC,
Cyrus’ decree to free the Jews, 537 BC,
Artaxerxes’ decree to allow the rebuilding of the Temple, 445 BC.
Daniels’s 69 weeks (483 years) or 476 360-day years.
-445 + 476 -1 (no year zero) = 32 AD,
very close to the April 3, 33 AD crucifixion date, when Messiah is cut off.

33 AD + 2,000 = 2033 AD, beginning of Daniel’s 70th week.
Rapture, 2036 and six months?
The Second coming of Jesus Christ, 2040?

After further research I have concluded that the ministry of the two witnesses begins after the Rapture ~2036. These two witnesses may be Old Testament saints (Elijah and Moses/Enoch/John the Baptist).

Or the two witnesses may be two chosen by God to rise up during the last 3.5 years of the tribulation, after the Rapture. These would be two who were not saved at the Rapture but are saved later. They refuse to accept the mark of the beast and instead receive the seal of God on their foreheads. They are protected by God as they perform their ministry until they are killed by the antichrist. But after three days God calls them up.
