The Apostle Paul said it this way, “Every day I strive to do what is right, I know what is right, yet every day I sin. I am thankful that God is true and faithful to forgive my sin when I ask Him!”
The difference is the desire to sin vs the fight every day against those sins that plague each and every one of us. Only God and Ravi know the truth of his struggle, I will be content with that. I have found great peace in the teachings of Ravi through the years but as is often the case, do we not often find the ourselves the true subject of that which we teach?
We must ALWAYS remember that it is The Gospel that saves by Grace through Faith LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST!
For I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded the He is able to keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that day.
I hope that Ravi repented fully and is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Amen
WWG1WGA!
“ONLY GOD KNOWS if he was truly saved.” Agree
True
“I hope that Ravi repented fully and is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior” - so do I.
One Place is a website that holds writings and sermons of many Christian leaders. I listen to Dr. Lutzer there, I also enjoy J. Vernon McGee’s Thru the Bible’s short radio commentaries. Those are just the two I follow, but there are many more, living and deceased, words/writings of other believers that are archived.
“ For he is saved by Grace through faith and not the works of his hand. Just as any of us are sanctified but the confession that God so loved the world that he sent His only son that whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal life”
Amen
Where does it say that?
But we can certainly judge his behavior. In fact we are called to do so.
Excellent article, and Bible-based.
Glad I saw the post so I could read the article and send the link to others, both saved (in Christ, empowered by God through His Word and His Spirit to believe the truth and to say “no” to temptation and sin and the devil) and unsaved (without Christ, with no way to deal with the temptation, the sin, or the devil), yet by God’s grace, through faith in Christ has been given the gospel.
The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes...For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Romans 1:16-17
Where does it say that?
19 After Jesus had finished this address, he left Galilee and circled back to Judea from across the Jordan River. 2 Vast crowds followed him, and he healed their sick. 3 Some Pharisees came to interview him and tried to trap him into saying something that would ruin him.
“Do you permit divorce?” they asked.
4 “Don’t you read the Scriptures?” he replied. “In them it is written that at the beginning God created man and woman, 5-6 and that a man should leave his father and mother, and be forever united to his wife. The two shall become one—no longer two, but one! And no man may divorce what God has joined together.”
7 “Then, why,” they asked, “did Moses say a man may divorce his wife by merely writing her a letter of dismissal?”
8 Jesus replied, “Moses did that in recognition of your hard and evil hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended. 9 And I tell you this, that anyone who divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery.”[a]
10 Jesus’ disciples then said to him, “If that is how it is, it is better not to marry!”
11 “Not everyone can accept this statement,” Jesus said. “Only those whom God helps. 12 Some are born without the ability to marry,[b] and some are disabled by men, and some refuse to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone who can, accept my statement.”
I am not sure if I am reading that correctly, but are you saying that a marriage between a man and a woman lasts forever? Or, are you saying it is a lasting institution, so long as man lives on the earth in the flesh?
Matthew 22:
28 Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seven? for all had her.
29 Then Jesus answered, and said unto them, Ye are deceived, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry wives, nor wives are bestowed in marriage, but are as the Angels of God in heaven.
I believe Jesus tells us all here that we aren’t actually married in heaven, and that there’s no reason to acknowledge the former marital relationship, or to continue on in that practice.
It’s a totally different world. Marriage was created by God to be used on earth. We use it to show that commitment to our spouse and family. We were instructed to populate the earth, and marriage was a part of that.
There will be no new births in heaven, so none of it is necessary.
I know the LDS tech about being spouses being tied together for eternity. Just for clarity, is that where you are coming from?
Glad you appreciated the article - I did too. Dr. Lutzer is just an outstanding preacher/teacher.....
“The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes...For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Romans 1:16-17”
Excellent passage - one of my favorites.
Thanks for that resource.
I can’t help seeing it through the eyes of the girls that were impacted. I feel as if they were less valued than those intellectuals who asked hard questions. You are right though, we are all sinners. What if this had been in the distant past would we be considering it differently. Sad, makes me very sad.
Yes, of course. Perhaps even Moe himself.;-)
He should have swung at this lazy pitch: “What it means for RZIM going forward has yet to be determined.”
If things are as reported only one thing can be done with RZIM: shut it down. The acronym RZIM stands for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.
Yes, it will mean stopping the fundraising. Yes, the staff - all claiming to be non-discerning Christians - must find work elsewhere.
As for the remaining capital, if things are as reported, it is tainted. Best not to use that in the ministry. Give it to a secular organization that distributes free double-masks in third world countries.
Perhaps save back some funds for possible claims from people who may claim they are owed something for past services.
We are all broken, deceitful, and sinful creatures.
Fact check me if you think you need to.
I say its crap. Show some balls and accuse me when I’m still breathing, I’m call BS. Sounds more like a “lets sue his estate” ploy to rake in easy bucks.
