Liberals are working to make each of those so unpleasureable that it’s not worth pursuing.
Now maybe can get a glimpse at why the Amish and Israelis sought a return to land and harvest.
Some Amish will tell you that there’s nothing inherently evil in having a washing machine but then you need electricity and to meet a monthly bill and machine soap and if the machine breaks down you need to call a repairman and need a phone and...
I talked last weekend with an nonagenarian and there was a passing comment about the super bowl. He became disillusioned by the attitudes of star athletes over half a century ago and doesn’t pay it any mind these days.

It’s working
Our modern version of bread and circuses is unlike anything ever experienced in recorded history. We did things the Roman’s couldn’t even imagine, like making the poorest the most likely to be obese. We are the most passively entertained and least used to physical labor of any people ever. I often think not enough is made of our amazing societal conditions.
I seriously doubt any prior civil upheaval or conflict would have ever occurred if they had our conditions. I think we are much closer to Brave New World than 1984 as far as our sci-fi dystopian reality.

“Shoot, a fella’ could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.”
When I see the sexual theme in the fall of man, when I see leftists celebrate the fall of man through illicit sex acts and the massive death pattern that follows throughout history, when I realized satanists consider sex abuse an initiation and right of passage, I’ve lost any appetite for porn.
It ain’t the distractions, or vanities as he says, rather it’s the quality of man that’s causing the trouble. Politicians do things today that would have had our grandfather’s in the streets and grandma too.
good post.
but even the faults listed above are just surface stuff compared to the root problem: the real problem is that America has turned away from God.
i discern God telling us that America (with President Trump going quietly from office, meekly accepting the evil that was done to him, cutting his deserved time short) is now entering a time of testing and tribulation—a time of God’s judgement. i read Trump scripturally as a Biblical analogue to Israel’s King Josiah, the last devout king of old Israel, who asked Israel for a return to God. but, his rule was evilly cut short and Israel choose to return to her evil ways, and then was finally given summary judgement with the sacking of Jerusalem and the 70 years captivity in Babylon.
Like Josiah, i feel Trump was a respite for America to turn back to God, but the jury is still out and it doesn’t look good right now at all.
with Trump gone, i feel God will now increase the pressure, as he did on Israel, looking to see if we will turn back to Him. Israel tragically didn’t heed God and his prophets in the Bible; it doubled and tripled down on its disobedience and harlotry against God.
so it’s all up to us. are we going to turn back to God?
Professionalism has been the ruin of many sports.
I bet they all got written by JLAGRAYFOX with extra commas.
Worst vanities ever and he ought to be Zotted.
Good article. I am pretty much vanity-free, at least in regard to these.
Professionalism has also been the ruin of politics.
And, of preaching.
When your livelihood depends on not speaking the truth, telling the truth becomes difficult, if not impossible, for most people.
‘The definition of Muse is, according to the dictionary, “to think about something carefully and thoroughly.”
actually the definition of ‘muse’ is ‘to ponder, dream, loiter, waste time’, and the ‘a’ is from Latin ‘ad’, meaning, ‘to,toward’...
“when push comes to shove, and this is hard for me to say, they are so infatuated with sports, that they cannot stay away even though those sports openly mock them and deride everything they stand for”
It’s not just infatuation. It’s part of their identity. When a stranger tries to start a conversation with another guy in a bar, 90% of the time they try to talk about sports, because they assume that this is some shared identity that they can bond over. If you don’t follow their team, well, then you’re not in their tribe, but you probably follow some team, so you’re at least in some tribe that they can have some common ground with. God forbid you’re a man who doesn’t follow sports at all, because then they might have to talk about something of substance if they want to have a conversation. We’ve replaced our old community, cultural, and blood ties with this fake consumerized tribalism of sports and everyone adopts it because it makes socializing easy, even if it also makes it trivial and superficial.

not the grandmas today; they’re all dead because we take off our masks when we leave the store on the way to the car...

I agree; by all means when we run into a guy at the bar (if they’re ever allowed to open again, which I doubt) our conversation should be limited to stuff like the national debt and long term interest rate projections...
Did you eventually come out of the closet and admit you are gay?
