Perhaps you can help me with Mt. 16.27-28 on the coming of the Lord:

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds. 28 Verily I say unto you, there are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Doesn’t it sound like Jesus said he would come for judgment during the lifetime of some of his disciples? Did he do that, or do we have some 2000 year old disciples around?

you are right Matt 16: 28 Verily I say unto you, there are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

that clearly indicates that the kingdom would come in the lifetime of His listeners - i.e. by 70 AD

That corroborates with
Mark 1:15 Jesus came into Galilee, [k]preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God [l]is at hand; repent and [m]believe in the gospel.”

and

Matthew 3:2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

good catch
