Your God Given Power And Authority

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Do you understand the authority and power that God has given to mankind. The scripture says that God created the heavens and the earth, but even though God created the heavens and the earth Psalm 115:16 says, The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. So, God creates it and then turns it over to mankind, He put mankind in charge of it. Genesis 1:26-28 says, 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. So, God made man in his image and in his likeness. Genesis 2 says He formed mans body out of the dust of the earth and breathed into him the breathe of life, God imparted himself into that body and man became a living being.

He made mankind to resemble him and function like him. And one way God functions is as in Romans 4:17 it says God calleth things that be not(manifested) as though they were(manifested). That word calleth is translated to incite by word and incite means to cause to act or occur. Like in Genesis 1 when the earth was dark and void God didn't speak about the darkness, He called for light and there was light. So, God called for something to be done in the earth before it was in the earth to cause it to be in the earth because his words produced that fruit. So, in the beginning God had the authority to decide what He wanted here and the power to cause it to be here. And He passed that on to mankind, God both authorized and empowered mankind to do the same. And then God immediately responds to man's authority, notice in Genesis 2:19 it says that God brought to Adam all the animals to see what he would call them not name them. So, God already named them, but He brought them to Adam for him to call them the same thing God called them. Because, whatever Adam called them that would be the name of them in the earth as Adam said. So, God could have said to Adam this is an elephant, but Adam had the authority to say this is a monkey and an elephant would have been called a monkey in the earth.

That's why that angel had to shut Zacharias mouth when the angel said that God heard his prayer and his wife Elizabeth would bare him a son even though she was barren and that the child's name would be John. Zacharias asked how shall I know this shall be so and the angel told him that his mouth would be shut until the child was born because he did not believe his words. Because, if Zacharias had said something different it would have been as he said in the earth and not as God said. That's why once the child was born and the people asked what would his name be and he took a writing table and wrote his name is John his tongue was loosed because now he is in agreement with God.

That was an example of man's authority given by God now let's see an example of man's power given by God in the case of Abraham and Sarah. In Genesis 17:4,5,15 it says 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. Notice, what God did he changed their names to match what He said Abram means high father and Abraham means father of a great multitude and Saria means princess and Sarah means Princess of the multitude. God is getting them to do like him call the thing that be not as though it were. They were going to have to cause that to happen by their words. Notice, God said, for a father of many nations have I made thee. He said that when Romans 4:19 says his body was dead and her womb was dead. Notice, God gave them something to say to deal with the conditions of their bodies. Proverbs 12:18 says, the tongue(words) of the wise is health(healing). Your words of healing will produce the fruit of healing. Your words produce fruit that's why Proverbs 18:21 says, death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof. Did you catch that, the power of the tongue so the tongue has power and it produces fruit. Fruit means something brought forth and Jesus confirms you bring forth things by your words, A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh (Luke 6:45)

So, make sure you don't speak opposite of what you want to see that's why 1Peter 3:10 warns, For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile. If you want to see good don't speak evil because you will produce that fruit. You will eat the fruit of your lips whether good or evil. So, speak good and not evil, speak life and not death, speak healing and not sickness and eat the fruit of you lips.
