For somebody who voices valid concerns about the nation, then in the next breath wishes to just disappear from it all, it makes one pause as to the validity of those concerns.
We are only called to be faithful.
The two are not mutually exclusive.
Some say as America goes, so goes the world.
America saves the world. The peddlers of apocalypse porn had the last 4 years to repent and say something beautiful about America the Beautiful but oh no, the flashlights keep aim at every sin 24/7/365. It's a cottage industry of darkness masquerading as light.
The actual remnant are the same as the people with a work ethic who have union, government, or other bureaucratic jobs. Those places afford them every opportunity to be useless, corrupt, entitled slackers, but they simply know to do the right thing where and when they can.
Christ is indeed a fine Christian man, the head of the Church. Who would suspect he'd be anchored in a vast spiritual sea of people stampeding toward the exits.
He's persona non grata as the quintessential Can-Do man. He rolls up his sleeves, showing people the way -- building stuff, taking care of his family and animals, healing those who seek out his services, all the while having to suffer surrounded by lamentation, mourning, and woes from the worshipers of establishment union boss Jesus who keeps em going with, "You don't have to do that - it's not in the contract."
Imagine this scene, the Messiah interviewing folks in order to maintain a city whose foundation was built by God:
"It says here you've been preaching 'The Word' for 30 years, but I don't see any actual knowledge or experience with infrastructure, roadwork, or waste disposal. Just 30 years of plastering warning labels on every tool and piece of equipment. You need to stand in the line to the left. Next!"
“For somebody who voices valid concerns about the nation, then in the next breath wishes to just disappear from it all, it makes one pause as to the validity of those concerns.”
While man has no control over the timing of prophetic events, we are given the free will to detetmine our individual destiny.
