Matthew 18

The Parable of the Wandering Sheep

10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a]

12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

Abba Father, Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God!

Who Created All Things,
And You Alone Who Know The End from The Beginning,
And the Beginning from The End.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Yesterday, I saw a T-Shirt in a store that made me chuckle. I almost bought it for my brother, who is a Biker and a huge Three Stooges fan. The Black T-Shirt was a parody of a fictional TV Biker Club called "The Sons of Anarchy". The Image on the back of the shirt pictured Moe, Larry, and Curly in tough-looking Biker gear. The effect was hilarious...but suddenly I realized that wearing such a T-Shirt on the road could cost a person his life. The way the "Colors" were arranged was exactly the same as a famous outlaw Motorcycle Club, and from a distance could have been mistaken for that very thing. Even worse, upon closer inspection, the "patch" revealed that it was a MOCKERY of that club's "Colors", which could be interpreted as a "False Flag" or just plain disrespect.

I shuddered and put the T-Shirt back on the rack. I hope NOBODY buys it.

Today's Story about the Good Shepherd has been told so many times that we can forget how dangerous the Judean Desert can be. Just riding through it in an air-conditioned tour bus was daunting. A sheep who wanders off has plenty of places to hide, many of them inaccessible to humans. And yet, here is the Good Shepherd, leaving the 99 (hopefully tended by a sheepdog or two!) to search for that lost sheep. He could be gone for a long time searching for that stray. Crags, cliffs, caves, bandits, and wild animals contribute to the danger. But when the lost sheep is found and rescued, what JOY the Shepherd experiences!

Sometimes our ministry is in a nice, safe place. That is wonderful! God tells us that "His burden is light". But there are also times when we are called to leave our safe space and do some scary searching to find that wandering soul. An inauthentic "shepherd" wouldn't last a day out in that wilderness. Anyone wearing "False Colors" is quickly revealed as a phony because he can't take the heat. Only a true "Good" Shepherd will persist in integrity and courage to find that Lost Sheep. And when He does, it's glorious.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

Psalm 141

A Psalm of David.

1 I call upon you, O Lord; come quickly to me;
give ear to my voice when I call to you.
2 Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice.

3 Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.
4 Do not turn my heart to any evil,
to busy myself with wicked deeds
in company with those who work iniquity;
do not let me eat of their delicacies.

5 Let the righteous strike me;
let the faithful correct me.
Never let the oil of the wicked anoint my head,*
for my prayer is continually* against their wicked deeds.
6 When they are given over to those who shall condemn them,
then they shall learn that my words were pleasant.
7 Like a rock that one breaks apart and shatters on the land,
so shall their bones be strewn at the mouth of Sheol.*

8 But my eyes are turned towards you, O God, my Lord;
in you I seek refuge; do not leave me defenceless.
9 Keep me from the trap that they have laid for me,
and from the snares of evildoers.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
while I alone escape.
