Churches need refreshing, just like diapers and politicians.
But the Truth is still the Truth.
I am about as far away from being a contemporary Christian as a person can get, and I am certain that Hillsong wouldn’t be my cup of tea, but if he has found the Way, the Truth, and the Life, that is a good thing.
I hope he is called not calling himself into it. That other Hillsong worship leader turned his back on Jesus a couple yrs back.
First church of what’s happening now
“Let it crawl, rev, let crawl!”

The Divine Profit Church...
Fred G. Sanford: [Piously admonishing Woodrow and Bubba] Remember, an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.
Bishop Lovelace: Well, put, Reverend. I’m glad to see a man who uses the Proverbs.
Fred G. Sanford: Oh, sure. Proverbs, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, I use ‘em all.
I’ve no idea gator. So many celebrities end up going right back in to it. I just hope the Christian’s that are disciplining are good examples. Following Jesus is certainly not easy.
I know many find fault with Hillsong, but I know that there are true believers there, amongst the tares. The LORD bless Bieber’s spiritual life, and may he win many of his fans, many tweens and teens, to the LORD.
A bad sign for who?
He’s only 26 I thought him much older now
I meant discipling, auto correct. *sigh*
I have no insight on the former, however his behavior seems to be much more normal than it has been win he first became famous. So at least he has that going for him, which is good. On the latter, I just have the sneaky feeling that the church is looking for a celebrity member and may have done their best to rope him to use him.
I also hope that is not the case but it’s the first thing that came to my mind.
The article is about Justin Beiber studying to become a Hillsongs Pastor. Then it mentions: “Other celebrities associated with Hillsong include Bieber’s wife Hailey and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.” To me that means they are associated/affiliated with the organization not just being in attendance.
As I was a teenager in the 70’s early 80’s I remember many rock stars decided to become Christians and start producing Christian contemporary music and started going on the Christian contemporary music scene tour. I ignorantly follow these artists, some of them turned out to produce good music and stayed in the Christian music scene for many decades, others moved onto other things like weird Middle eastern religions. My gut feeling is Justin wants to move away from the young male Hollywood teenager attention whore culture and become the new Christian Contemporary male whore where he can make just as much money and have just as much attention as he is use to getting. Just another attention getting whore riding a different beast.
I thought so as well.
I guess he’s been famous since around 12?...
Well, I’ll take getting older over the other possibility.
I’m just joking about this church, as I know zero about it.
This article is the first I have ever heard of it.
I wish him well. If I had his youth, I would be dead already.
I don’t think he behaved too bad considering.
Who were the musicians you remembered that made the switch? I remember the singer John Elephante from the late 90s having 2 solo albums and liking his music, but the weird thing is I never knew his past and that he was in the band Kansas as well as a proficient producer.
You specifically used the words ‘part of the organization.’ Not associated or affiliated.
It’s really sad how many people jump on the attack in threads like these rather than first presuming that it actually just might be a good thing that someone lost has found their way to Christ. Or in the case of the Jenners might even at least be willing to find out what truly being a Christian is.
I thought it was The Bee
You had to ask that question, I could only think of a few like I described, I had to do a google search and took a few name off of the list. I followed Barry McQuire, Gary S. Paxton quiet a bit, they might of been really early 80's though, and Bob Dylan, B. J. Thomas were two others I thought of of which fit what I described but I never really listen to them and I think it would be hard to say they were rock stars, and It be really hard to say they made a big switch, it would probably be more they switched more to making more Christian songs of which they played, I really don't really know I never really followed them. The first one I mention Barry McQuire I really liked his Christian albums at the time but eventually he disappeared from the music scene and I heard he ran off into worshipping something strange like some Middle Eastern Religion but that might of been more rumor then truth. Either way the "List of 1970s Christian Pop Artists" I found on Wikipedia brought back many good memories of groups I listen too. And I did listen to some of the Kansas stuff as they move away from the typical rock music to more Christian stuff, can't remember to much about that transition though and it was more 80's stuff.
