Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Lambs, Sheep, and Shepherds
.
1 Chronicles 11:1-3
David Becomes King Over Israel
11 All Israel came together to David at Hebron and said, “We are your own flesh and blood. 2 In the past, even while Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the Lord your God said to you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.’”
3 When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, he made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel, as the Lord had promised through Samuel.
New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)
David becomes king…but his job is still to be that of a Shepherd.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Abba Father!
You Are Clothed in Majesty!
You Are The Creator of All That Is!
And You Tell Us in Your Word,
That You Are The All in All,
And That In You,
All Things Hold Together!
You Are The Answer To All Our Questions,
All Our Theories,
All Our Wonders!
Almighty Father,
teach us daily that it is You,
not we, who are in control.
Take away our Pride
In thinking we can micromanage every situation,
not depending on You,
but doing what is right in our own eyes.
Teach us to welcome the assistance and advice of our loved ones and brethren,
As You see fit to delegate the ministry among Your Children.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

For years, I have been trying to get onto the TV Game show "JEOPARDY!". I play every day online and have a running score of over 85% correct. I take the online test every time it is presented, and have a feeling I have scored well on those as well. But I have never gotten the call, because the high scorers are then chosen in a lottery. And my name has just not come up. Now that Alex Trebec has passed away, my enthusiasm for getting on the show has waned. It just wouldn't be the same to me. I still play online and watch the show in reruns, but I didn't even bother trying to qualify this year.
Last night, there was an entire category dedicated to Israel. Thanks to Israel's Ministry of Tourism, Alex asked the questions (answers) from some very important sites in Israel. The first one was the top of the Mount of Olives. Then he was at the Western Wall. Next, a boat in the Sea of Galilee. Then, back to Jerusalem to the grave of Oskar Schindler, upon which Alex placed a stone (a Jewish custom of Remembrance). Then Alex was at Yad VaShem on the Avenue of the Righteous. Finally, Alex was floating in the Dead Sea, in its super-salty buoyant water. Every scene was so familiar to me, it was as if I were there with him. Now remember, I have only been to Israel once, nearly 40 years ago. At the time, I became aware of the international situation of various countries NOT placing their embassies in Israel's Capital (Jerusalem) for some ridiculous reason. My own beloved America was among those who followed this practice. I could only surmise that this international snub was to placate the "Moslem World" upon whom the whole world depended for their oil.
This was an issue that had two answers. First, we should have been energy-independent from the get-go, as we had the oil and the infrastructure all along. Second, The "Moslem World" will never be placated no matter what one does, because, in the words of the famous Gilda Radner Character "It's always SOMETHING!" And so, back in 1984, I began to pray two prayers in one: That my own nation, the USA, would become energy-independent so as not to have to rely on "The Moslem World", and that we would do the right thing and move our Embassy to Jerusalem. Of course I've prayed for other things during those years, but that prayer was a constant. It was even the inspiration for this Thread, over ten years ago. Of course, we all know that President Trump, right near the beginning of his first term, achieved both of those goals. God answered my prayer, and used a BRASSY NEW YORKER to do it!
Seeing Alex(RIP) in Israel last night brought all of this to my mind. Sometimes we pray and pray, and don't see results right away. Right now I am praying for a certain BRASSY NEW YORKER who has been horribly wronged by the "system". God used him to answer my prayers, and now I am praying that God will use ME to answer his.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 121
A Song of Ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 He who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and for evermore.

I join in your eloquent prayer for Jerusalem and all it entails. You pray for the BRASSY NEW YORKER to continue as our President because you (and I) believe he is and will continue to be a good shepherd for us. But how we treasure our true Ποιμεν Καλος, Poimen Kalos, Good Shepherd, and how eager we are for the day He takes over in-person: fully then “Immanuel.”

And since you already know I am a native Bostonian, and Avid Red Sox Fan, it takes a real move of God to get me to pray so fervently for a BRASSY NEW YORKER! d:-)
