There are different definitions as to what, exactly, constitutes "persecuted" or "martyred", and based on one very loose definition the numbers are now down by about half since 2010.

But stricter definitions which began with smaller numbers show no reductions.
Worldwide about 245 million Christians experience some form of persecution for their faith -- that's one in nine.

Over 4,000 Christians are killed for their faith each year.
Over 100 churches are attacked, burned or vandalized each month.

Muslims are the biggest persecutors.
One of six Christians in Africa experience persecution for their faith.
One in three Christians in Asia are persecuted.
Even in South American one in 21 Christians experience persecution for their faith.

How many people know these numbers, or the lives they represent?
