In fairness, the Vatican bank’s assets amount to $2.30 per global Catholic. What’s strange is this Australian transfer almost as much money as the ENTIRE Vatican bank’s aseets!!!!

The US has its own bank; I suspect most countries do.

The rest of the world has some say over what transactions they permit, and how they scrutinize those transactions, once funds cross a border.

That being said, our Church has certainly failed us.

I suspect the real value of the Vatican is in its properties.

“The Vatican” boasting makes about as much sense as “Mount Rushmore” boasting. Liquidity is a huge problem at the Vatican, and I doubt that Francis pulls in the dough from the faithful, who aren’t stupid. There is a reason that the rumors of selling out to China seem to ring true.

Having been on one of their tours, boasting is the appropriate word. They are very impressed woth their wealth and collections. Somehow it doesn’t fit with our Lord who had no place to lay His head and was buried in a borrowed tom Fortunately He didn’t need it very long
