Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Lambs, Sheep, and Shepherds
.
Isaiah 61
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
5 Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6 And you will be called priests of the Lord,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.
7 Instead of your shame
you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
and everlasting joy will be yours.
8 “For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 Their descendants will be known among the nations
and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”
10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
and praise spring up before all nations.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty Father,
Blessed Be Your Holy Name Forever!
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King Of The Universe,
Who has given us this Day,
This Moment,
And Has Brought us Together for Your Purpose.
We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise
Into the House of The LORD,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham!
If the People will not sing Your Praises,
The very rocks of the earth would break forth in song to Praise You,
Oh Father, Creator, LORD of All!
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Over a half-century ago, my Dad took me to the Planetarium. This was located on the Charles River, in a small domed building attached to Boston's Museum of Science. Evidently, at work, Dad had gotten two tickets to a special Christmas Show, and he knew that Mom wasn't interested in that stuff, so he took me instead. So Dad and I had a "date", and I was so excited!
The Planetarium was a small round theater with seats that lay back, giving the audience a perfect view of the domed ceiling. The lights went out and the show began. Across the black background, stars and planets appeared. The rather dry narration spoke of orbits, trajectories, and planetary conjunctions. At the very climax of the program, Jupiter, Saturn, and perhaps a few other planets lined up, and the entire dome was dazzling with light. The Narrator finished his presentation saying that such a conjunction was probably The Star of Bethlehem! (I LOVED it!)
And so, I was eagerly awaiting the same kind of conjunction (Jupiter and Saturn) that occurred last night. Night after crisp, clear night, I observed the planets getting closer and closer. I was so excited, as this phenomenon would not reoccur for another 800 years. So it was last night...or never again in my lifetime.
I carefully timed my lessons yesterday so that I would be free at the moment of the conjunction. I went outside to see (I knew right where to look) and saw a heavy grey overcast cloud cover that threatened SNOW. "Typical ending for 2020! No Stars For YOU!"
Today is cold and clear, and I might be able to see it tonight, but I'll always have the Planetarium Memory. I truly wonder if the Boston Planetarium would ever admit to having mentioned "Christmas" or even the "Star of Bethlehem" in one of their late 50's presentations!
Although "Science" may have a perfectly plausible explanation for a Miracle, God does not need planetary trajectories to place a sign in the heavens. After all, He created them, and He can either use what is there or create something new. Whether the Star of Bethlehem was a natural phenomenon or something special created for the moment, it got the attention of the Wise Men and led them to The Messiah.
I wonder if the Boston Planetarium inadvertently did that for ME!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 63
A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.
1 O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name.
5 My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,*
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips
6 when I think of you on my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.
9 But those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down into the depths of the earth;
10 they shall be given over to the power of the sword,
they shall be prey for jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.

In The Chosen's Episode 3, a group of children asks Jesus, "Why did You come?" As His answer, He quoted verses 1-3a. It was a wonderful scene.

2 Peter 1:19
And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts.
