The Bordeaux correctional court ( Gironde ) sentenced, Monday, December 7, a 35-year-old man, a Sudanese refugee. He had yelled "Allahu Akbar" and "Daesh" in the direction of a gendarme, reports Sud Ouest .

The facts took place Thursday, December 3, in Blanquefort . Visibly intoxicated, the defendant was on a tram platform when he attacked users and controllers, before insulting the gendarmes called on the spot.

He says he has no memory

He then rushed on one of the soldiers before threatening to "cut off everyone's heads . " The thirty-something was finally arrested and taken into custody. Still very agitated, he had threatened the police with death and mimed a throat-cutting gesture from his cell, details the regional daily.

The defendant indicated at the bar that he had no recollection of the facts. Treated for hepatitis, he allegedly drank alcohol on that day. Recalling that his client is working and learning French, the defense lawyer pleaded for leniency. The prosecution, for its part, required three months in prison. The court eventually sentenced the 30-something to four months suspended imprisonment.

Moved in to a bigger home and gave him a larger food budget. The poor dears are just so oppressed living in Europe.

If the guy wants to learn French (for whatever stupid reason), the BEST WAY for him to do so is in a prison...well, depends on the country, probably more Arabic in the jails there.

Was only suspended; should have been terminated on the spot for insulting the gendarmes.

Sounds like the kind of sentence NYC loonies would have handed out, plus season tix to Yankee Stadium.

Nah. That would be common sense. And we can’t have any common sense nowadays.
