Signaling an end to the latest chapter in the Catholic Church’s struggle to heal from scathing revelations of child sexual abuse in a 2018 grand jury report, an independent mediator for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh announced Thursday that it has completed two years of work and awarded more than $19 million to settle 224 claims of clergy sexual abuse.

The announcement from The Kenneth Feinberg Group marks the conclusion of work begun in January 2019 after the diocese engaged the firm to administer a compensation fund program established in the wake of the grand jury report, which detailed decades of clergy sexual abuse in dioceses across the state.

Bishop David Zubik hailed the mediator’s work and said it is just one aspect of the church’s continuing effort to help abuse victims heal. He noted that the church had settled claims with 34 abuse victims in 2007 and set up counseling programs to help victims.

“My heart continues to grieve for the victims of childhood sexual abuse, especially those abused by clergy, the very people who were ordained to guide them to a life of holiness,” Zubik said. “It is my prayer that this compensation will provide support that victims/survivors need on their path toward healing.”

The Soviet Communists back in the 1920s decided they were going to destroy the Catholic Church in the United States. They had one of their comrades, Bella Dodd, recruit about 1,000 seminarians who were both communist and queer. They were told to keep their heads down and not create attention, but they were to rise to the highest levels of the Church. She personally had a change of heart and became a Catholic convert through the help of Fulton Sheen. She gave testimony about this before Congress.

(She could name the bishops that she had recruited and were very powerful at the Vatican council, although she did not add their names to her congressional testimony because Sheen told her that the main information was enough and to give the specific names at that point would be giving scandal.)

That is what we are dealing with right now. That is why we have a collection of bishops in the NSCCB who hate Trump and who are headed by a gay man whose seminarian nickname was "The African Queen."

Pope Benedict was visiting the US and was asked a question about Church action in the US, and he responded, "We could do more, however the bishops in America are in schism." That is where we are at right now.

I predict that when Frankie begins to make radical changes quickly, we will be encouraged to take proper action for the sake of our Church - not the church of Frankie's making - but in the face of what Frankie will do, Our Lord will need to be defended, and we will do that.

Firstly - there are 23 other rites of the Catholic church - all of those allow married men to become priests

Secondly, it is a discipline - and the point of this at the beginning was to focus on God, like monks. It's time to change that discipline

Thirdly the one thing men are built for - that's reducing us to purely sexual beings, like the homosexuals who want us to identify ourselves by sexual orientation. But we are more than that.

I'm 73 years old and can't remember a time that the Catholic church was not having problems with some priests molesting the choir boys. Obviously it's easy for a homo to take an oath of celibacy from women!!!
