We are living in the last days since the pentecost

it will not be pre-Tribulation. Jesus did not promise we would be taken away and not suffer. On the contrary He promised us that we WOULD suffer for HIS name.

We will be a light to the nations.

Think of the Christians suffering under Muslim rule - they are and were a light

In the case of Noah - the wicked were the ones raptured i.e. taken away.

In Matthew we read clearly

15 “When you see the desolating abomination[j] spoken of through Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those in Judea must flee[k] to the mountains, 17 [l]a person on the housetop must not go down to get things out of his house, 18 a person in the field must not return to get his cloak. 19 Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days. 20 [m]Pray that your flight not be in winter or on the sabbath, 21 [n]for at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will be.

Namely that both Matthew and Mark add a phrase to Jesus' prophecy "let the reader understand" -- this is for the average Jesus-movement jew (i.e. christian) of the FIRST Century) - that the sacrilege is NOT Antiochus' desolation but the leader's rejection of Jesus

Luke gives us more specific direction as to what to look for in this "desolating sacrilege" -- he write When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies then know that its desolation has come near Luke 21"20 --> this is the Roman legions marching under the banner of an unclean bird, the eagle - worshiping the Eagle, swearing by the ensigns.

In the summer of 66 AD the Roman general Cestius Gallus attacked Jerusalem in response to the cessation of the sacrifices for Nero in the temple.

The Jews had only a small window in 67 AD to leave the seige and the Jesus-movement Jews (i.e. the Christians) DID do that -- the Christians escaped to Pella

Jesus is then referring to the great Tribulation of the Church under Nero from 64 to 67 AD

This was the great Tribulation - the church, the bride of God, was about to be snuffed out, but the Church survived and the prophecy was fulfilled.

Daniel's prophecy is fulfilled with the destruction of Jerusalem as is Jesus' prophecy
