anyone who has watched “Amadeus” could not help but conclude that the composer of “Ave Verum Corpus” had a diseased and wicked soul.

I would appreciate it if you took some time to explain that. Thanks in advance.

Granted, the film takes liberties, as did the book which preceded it.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was, like all of us, someone who struggled with sin.

Romans 7 describes him and, if we are honest, describes us. In spite of sins of the flesh God used Mozart as a channel of grace for some of the finest Western liturgical music composed.

I would place Mozart’s Ave Verum and Requiem at the top of that list.
