Today is the sentencing for the former Elkhart woman who pleaded guilty to financially supporting ISIS.

Federal prosecutors recommended the maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for Samantha Elhassani, formally known as Samantha Sally.

Elhassani was living in Elkhart in 2014 when her husband and his brother went to Syria to join the terrorist group.

She claimed she was tricked into joining ISIS and feared losing her children.

The government showed her actions proved she was an active supporter of the terrorist group.
