That’s not a replica but just an artist’s guess at what the flag could have looked like but probably didn’t ... barbed wire wasn’t invented until 1867 so could not have appeared on the flag. The snake was on it but it is unlikely the original flag designer had the means to cut and paste from the Don’t tread on me flag so the snake probably differed considerably, etc.

The historical accounts regarding many flags are less than detailed, and (obviously) no photos existed prior to the invention of photography. IIRC, there is some debate regarding the color of the Bunker Hill flag (red field vs. blue), and the flag flown over The Alamo may have also differed from popular representations. But I may be flying both of those this week, nevertheless!
