Exodus7
The Plague of Blood
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, Pharaohs heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake. 16 Then say to him, The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now you have not listened. 17 This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. 18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.
19 The Lord said to Moses, Tell Aaron, Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egyptover the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirsand they will turn to blood. Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels[a] of wood and stone.
20 Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. 21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.
22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaohs heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said. 23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. 24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.
New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)
Not only was the Nile the lifeblood of the entire Egyptian Civilization, it was also looked upon as a god.

Psalm 48
A Song. A Psalm of the Korahites.
1 Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God.
His holy mountain, 2beautiful in elevation,
is the joy of all the earth,
Mount Zion, in the far north,
the city of the great King.
3 Within its citadels God
has shown himself a sure defence.
4 Then the kings assembled,
they came on together.
5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded;
they were in panic, they took to flight;
6 trembling took hold of them there,
pains as of a woman in labour,
7 as when an east wind shatters
the ships of Tarshish.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of hosts,
in the city of our God,
which God establishes for ever.
Selah
9 We ponder your steadfast love, O God,
in the midst of your temple.
10 Your name, O God, like your praise,
reaches to the ends of the earth.
Your right hand is filled with victory.
11 Let Mount Zion be glad,
let the towns* of Judah rejoice
because of your judgements.
12 Walk about Zion, go all around it,
count its towers,
13 consider well its ramparts;
go through its citadels,
that you may tell the next generation
14 that this is God,
our God for ever and ever.
He will be our guide for ever.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! And for the Preservation of the Valiant Israeli Nation!
"Moses and Aaron at The Nile" The First Plague Of Egypt From "The Golden Haggadah"

ND the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.
Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand. |
And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.
And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.
And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.
And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.
And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

One of our Beloved Prayer Warriors (YOU know who you are!) worked as a scientist for NASA. When she told me this, I was in awe. I was never that great in Science, but excelled in the Arts. My only use for "The Periodic Table" would be coloring in the squares to make a nice quilt design, but there was something about Space that fascinated me. I can still remember the names of the first seven Mercury Astronauts, and wrote a Fourth-Grade Science Project about John Glenn. I spent more time making a papier-mache model of Planet Earth with the three orbits inscribed upon it, than actually learning any Science! But that's OK. God can use all of us with our different gifts.
Science combines beautifully with Art when we look at Satellite pictures of the Earth and Beyond. When I look at the Satellite Picture of The Nile at Night (above) I am struck by how much it looks like a beautiful Water Lily (or Lotus), which was the sacred flower of the Egyptians. The outline in lights is probably the same area of Civilization that existed in Moses' day, as life can barely exist beyond the flow of the Nile. As we read earlier, the Egyptians worshiped The Nile as a god, and Pharaoh was an extension of that deity. If the Nile didn't flood, or flooded too much, the whole country was in trouble. Centuries before, in the time of Joseph, the king was able to avert total disaster by listening to the One True God.
In the movie "The Ten Commandments", Cecil B. DeMille makes dramatic use of this belief. He shows Moses and Aaron putting the Shepherd's Staff into the Nile just as Pharaoh is performing a worship service for the river. Pharaoh is unable to "undo" the Plague of Blood with his mumbo jumbo. In the Scriptures, Pharaoh's magicians are able to create an illusion of blood, but are also unable to "undo" Moses. Pharaoh knows he's in big trouble, but his heart is hardened even more by each successive miracle.
Where have we seen THAT before?

Well, the Scripture tells us that the poor beleagered Egyptians had to dig in the ground for fresh water to drink. Maybe the magicians turned THAT water into blood.
The magicians were part of the "deep state", after all. Kind of like raising taxes on the people who can least afford it.
