Dear Father In Heaven,
How Hallowed is Your Most Wonderful Name!
We Love You With Our Whole Hearts
With Our Whole Souls
With Our Whole Strength
And With Our Whole Being.
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship
You Alone Are The One True Holy and Righteous God.
Rock of All Ages,
Our Creator,
You Have Made Us,
and All That Is.
How We Long For Your Kingdom, Oh Father.
When Your Will Is Done,
On Earth as it is in Heaven.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The Archaeologists of The Victorian Age were stunned and embarrassed by some of the things they uncovered in Egypt. Horrified by depictions of occult fertility rites, they actually altered paintings and carvings of the kings, who, being depicted as a "god" were "mating" with "Mother Earth". This was to ensure a good harvest. Since they didn't have ZOOM in those days, these rites were performed in secret. Victorian Archaeologists aimed to keep it that way...a secret.
As a Prince of Egypt, Moses had 40 years of training in the arts and sciences of the Egyptians. Since Pharaoh was considered a living god, the children of Pharaoh would have received all kinds of training in the secret practices of the Egyptian religion. He knew that Pharaoh was considered a "god", and the prosperity and fertility of the whole country depended upon him. As the "Beloved of the Nile God", Pharaoh was responsible for the yearly flooding of the Nile, the appropriate receding of the Flood, the deposit of new topsoil, the germination of the plants, and the abundant harvest to follow. One glitch in the chain of events spelled disaster, and Moses knew it.
Still, if one travels 40 miles into the woods, one will have to travel 40 miles to get OUT. Moses, schooled for 40 years in the depraved and occult practices of Egypt, spent another 40 years on the "backside of the desert" to learn how to shepherd the flock of The One True God.
Some of St. Paul's disciples, who ended up becoming pastors in the Early Church, were quite young. Paul even cautioned them in his letters, (1 Timothy 4:12, NIV: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."), and there would be people who would be disrespectful of youthful leaders. And yet, Paul had spent many years himself, studying under the greatest sages of his religion. He was so immersed in the learning of his religion that God had to knock him off his high horse.
Nevertheless, it is probably advantageous to get more learning and experience before pastoring a flock. Many times it is "on-the-job" training! When I first started this Thread over ten years ago on Free Republic, I was a complete n00b. I didn't know how to post pictures, didn't know HTML, and didn't know about photo-sharing sites. Several people (some of whom still post on this Thread daily) helped me along, and here we are. I just celebrated my 68th Birthday, and I feel as though I'm just getting started! :-)
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

Psalm 116
1 I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
3 The snares of death encompassed me;
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
O Lord, I pray, save my life!
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
our God is merciful.
6 The Lord protects the simple;
when I was brought low, he saved me.
7 Return, O my soul, to your rest,
for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
8 For you have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling.
9 I walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.
10 I kept my faith, even when I said,
I am greatly afflicted;
11 I said in my consternation,
Everyone is a liar.
12 What shall I return to the Lord
for all his bounty to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord,
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his faithful ones.
16 O Lord, I am your servant;
I am your servant, the child of your serving-maid.
You have loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to you a thanksgiving sacrifice
and call on the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people,
19 in the courts of the house of the Lord,
in your midst, O Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!

The Saga of Plymouth during its 400th Anniversary in the year of COVID has been a frequent subject on this thread. I’ve been doing my best to patronize small, local, businesses to keep them afloat. I was so happy that my sisters, B-I-L, and Nephews made my birthday one for the History Books (and the Account Ledgers as well!)
