No one should be miserable, and we are all sinners.
That said, it is strange that a man who supposedly spent his life studying God’s Word, and was elected by men of his church to apply it, should have no idea of the concept of God’s idea of family as He created it.
“No one should be miserable”
People bring misery onto themselves (even eternal misery) and, as such, they ought to be miserable.
