Tye end of the age happeneD, as Jesus foretold it would happen during the lifetime of the generation that heard him in 30 AD, with the 2nd temple having the abomination of Emperor worship sanctioned by The high priest. And the temple was destroyed as seen by john in the book of Revelations

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate;

What flavor of cool-aid was that which you have consumed?

They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

4 The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains;

16 and they *said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb;

17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

I pray that on this day you see the folly you have believed.

The *this generation* that Jesus was referring to wa not the one He was talking to. It was the one that was living through the signs He was addressing.

Because when you look at the passage in Matthew 24, it makes no sense for Him to be talking about the Tribulation period, jump back to the present for one sentence/verse, and then address the Tribulation period again.

Apocalypse 6:14-17 --> actually start from verse 12 and compare the symbolism to Isaiah 34 where Edom is told of God's coming judgement "The host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall fall as leaves fall from the vine, like leaves falling from the fig tree" - Is 34:4

The Message in Apoc 6 is this _ Jerusalem of the 1st century is about to experience the same judgement God leveled against the enemies of His people in the past, because the 1st century Jerusalem has become like them.

Mountains and islands were places of refuge during troubled times. In sayign that these places will be removed, John is telling his readers that there will be no place left to hide. Therefore those who "hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains" will also be judged.

The wording recalls Jesus' warning to the women who stood by weeping for Him as He carried His cross: But jesus turning to them said 'Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For behold, the days are coming when they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, an the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never gave suckle!' then they will say to the mountains 'Fall on us'; and to the hills 'Cover us'. For if they do this when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?"

The reference to green wood is saying that the wickedness of the Sanhedrin who killed Him ("in the city where they crucified our Lord, known as Sodom and Gomorrah, the Great Babylon") is nothing compared to the evil state of Jerusalem at the time of destruction in the year 70

I pray that you start to believe and trust in the words of Our Lord and God, Jesus Christ who prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD (within the generation fo those listening to Him in 30 AD) and the coming of His Kingdom - as seen in the signs about the city as noted by Josephus
