I’m not an Orthodox Jew, so I couldn’t say one way or another.I don't see how Orthodoxy could confer color judgement. And, most of the Orthodox Jews I've been exposed to aren't cattle or dairy farmers.

The authoritative work on Temple red cows is Rambam’s Mishneh Torah, Sefer Taharah, Parah Adumah (15 chapters). Plenty of details there.
