I don’t know what it is about the Falwells. The school is wonderful and this is going to destroy so many people. But he’s probably like a lot of Popes and bishops, do as I say, not as I do.

However, it’s harder for Protestants to recover from this. We Catholics are already pretty cynical.

Falwell Jr. has never been a minister, or man of the cloth. He is a lawyer by trade. I think the lawyer profession will survive.

Christians are disappointed by the fallen and hope for restoration - as Scripture says.

But in the meantime, they need to be removed.

Simply put, Jerry Falwell was an older generation baby boomer, or a young greatest generation. That generation generally relied on social mores to teach their children and he concentrated on building his university and likely didn’t attend to his children as much as he should have.

His son adopted many of the world’s teachings into his worldview and didn’t attend to his inner life as much as he should have.

I always think of Abraham’s negotiation with God about Sodom and Gomorrah. Even the most corrupt place can be saved if there are even just a few righteous people in it.

I’m sorry but that made me chuckle

Naaah, we're pretty cynical too.

I'd actually heard stuff about Jerry, Jr. before this.
