Melanie Diodati, a graduate theology student at the Augustinian university in Pennsylvania, criticised Villanova on Twitter in late June after the universitys athletic department described itself as an ally of the LGBTQ+ Community. Diodati said she was ashamed to attend the university because it was ashamed to be Catholic.
Diodati later tweeted claims that her academic advisor, Professor Jennifer Jackson, had warned Diodati over her Twitter activity.
In the Twitter thread Diodati claimed that Professor Jackson said I might lose my tuition scholarship and that I ought to come back to Twitter and tweet my supposed appreciation and love for the theology department and Villanova as a whole.

Ping
Radnor Twp is full of liberal a-holes.
Seems as if she is being blackmailed. She should get in touch with FIRE.
She could lose her scholarship over a Tweet?
Wow. Time to find another school.
yep, this is so wrong, people still think that we have a First Ammendment, but it was struck down. We need to control speech, thought, and work hard to elect Joe Biden to make sure people dont say things that they think.
Wait just a minute. This student was castigated for standing up for real Catholic values? Am I getting this right?
The world has gone insane.
No college or university that calls itself “Catholic” should no longer be able to do so if they support abortion, LBGTQ (?) rights, or anything that’s anathema to what Jesus Christ would have said or done.
I really think God and his Son are shaking their heads in dismay at the state of affairs in the U.S., which has been protected, so far, because (and I believe this sincerely) we have protected Israel.
Nova tuition, room & board is 72K a year.
When I was in college, we fought big government. College kids now see to love big government
Agree.
Any young person wanting a truly Catholic education should go to Steubenville or Ave Maria.
My father and I both graduated from VU. My grandson applied and was accepted but they had no financial support to soften the full boat tuition and board, and it was over $72K.
My last semester tuition was $625 and I remember because my starting salary when I graduated was the same per month in 1964. No graduate now can match his or her one semester tuition with their first month pay.
I got a letter from the President announcing the new VP for “Diversity and Inclusion”. I wrote him expressing ny discomfort with the move. He justified it based on disturbing twitter feeds he had received from students, so I guess even “Catholic” schools are being run by twitter sensitivity.
Most Catholic universities are not Catholic any longer
Villanova Is about as Catholic as the Pope ... just sayin
Even Catholic universities must conform entirely to the mandates of the Communist autocracy at least in every external manifestation. Catholic institutions teach the impolitic truths of the Faith through silence or through unopposed explicit and enthusiastic contradiction of those truths. That’s the reality today. Of course, any vocal sound must go through a muffle that blocks facial expressions from view.
“Of course, any vocal sound must go through a muffle that blocks facial expressions from view.”
Wow, it sounds like a confession, except in a weird perverted sense.
Hope my post makes sense; I can’t go back to see what thread I’m on without losing the post entirely. :(
” the Pope ...”
Okay, let’s invite some bears and some woods, and let’s get this party started! LOL!
They haven’t been Catholic for decades.
