Seven Russian senators have introduced a package of bills that would prohibit same-sex marriage, ban gay couples from adopting children, and prevent people from getting married after gender reassignment.
Led by Senator Elena Mizulina, the head of the Senate's committee on updating the country's ‘Family Code’, the proposals follow in the footsteps of Russia's constitutional amendments which officially defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
In March, the country's Constitutional Court deemed the changes to be lawful, but insisted that it does not remove the state's obligation to respect differences, including in regards to sexual orientation.
“The bill stops the practice of marriage between two people of the same sex, as well as those who have had a sex-change, and subsequently prevents these couples from adopting children,” Senator Mizulina said.

There’s no way I can hate any culture that gave us Tolstoy and Solzhenitsyn, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.
I even have a hard time feeling anything but grudging respect for Putin. He may be an SOB but he’s an SOB for Russian nationalism and tradition.

Sad but true, and that should have never been allowed to happen. We have the NEA and the teachers unions to thank for that.

Completely agree. Just like in the norther kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judea God is going to allow us to be attacked, taken into captivity, killed or scattered. All because as a country we have abandoned him.
I would love to move to one of the old USSR satalites or to russia itself. I have been watching Russian television on netflix and one thing that has surprised me was the amount of graffiti in russian cities.

They only way both left and right can survive is if this country is split up into territories where both sides can live as they want.....and not have to compromise the values each side holds dear.

In my experience, when a nominally unified group gets to the flash point of dividing over conservative vs. liberal values, the conservatives are in the minority by then and have to leave the joint property to rebuild elsewhere. I suspect it’s the same for a nation. The Pilgrims thought so when they finally left Amsterdam, for example. If we’re going to find freedom to practice and teach God’s view of morality, without oppression, we may well have to leave the US in the foreseeable future.

Not for the most conservative major religious group, since Putin/Russia has banned what they do (and the NT church did) and persecutes them.
Remember, the Scribes and the Pharisees would have had homosexuals and adulterers stoned, and as with Putin, they also would persecute us if they were elected here today.
