May the LORD, the God of Israel, grant our nation mercy and stand by the men who invoke His Name for our good and the good of His holy Church.
Amen. Thank you all for praying as the Spirit directed you.
Father, we pray in the name of Jesus for our President, Donald John Trump. We imagine his private conversations with you as he deals with all his many enemies. We regularly have to remind ourselves that we are beholden to You alone and it is against You alone that our sins matter. We know and confess over President Trump that fear of man is a snare and that You have given us all a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.
All his longings lie before You, Lord. His sighing is not hidden from You. Those who are “fair weather friends and supporters” stay far away from him. Those who want to kill him set their traps, those who would harm him talk of his ruin; all day long they scheme and lie.
BUT GOD, we and he wait for You. You WILL answer, Lord our God for we say, “ “Do not let them gloat or exalt themselves over him when his feet slip.”
Because of You he will not fall. Although for now, our pain is ever with us.
Because of the working of Your Spirit, we are all troubled by sin and, because of our covenant with You, we are grateful that we can confess our iniquity and we are forgiven..
Many have become his enemies without cause. Those who hate him without reason are numerous. They repay his good with evil and lodge accusations against him even though he seeks to do what is good for the Nation. LORD! DO NOT FORSAKE HIM OR BE FAR FROM HIM. Come quickly to help him, our Lord and our Savior. Amen.(psalm 38)
