Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Music in The Bible)

Jeremiah 9:20

Now, you women, hear the word of the Lord;
    open your ears to the words of his mouth.
Teach your daughters how to wail;
    teach one another a lament.

New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)

Yesterday we spoke of Songs of Joy. Today's Scripture is about a "Lament" which is a song of sorrow.

Amen!!!

Psalm 5

To the leader: for the flutes. A Psalm of David.

1 Give ear to my words, O Lord;
give heed to my sighing.
2 Listen to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch.

4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil will not sojourn with you.
5 The boastful will not stand before your eyes;
you hate all evildoers.
6 You destroy those who speak lies;
the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful.

7 But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love,
will enter your house,
I will bow down towards your holy temple
in awe of you.
8 Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies;
make your way straight before me.

9 For there is no truth in their mouths;
their hearts are destruction;
their throats are open graves;
they flatter with their tongues.
10 Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them fall by their own counsels;
because of their many transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against you.

11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
so that those who love your name may exult in you.
12 For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover them with favour as with a shield.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 2020!

I know many of our Prayer Warriors watched the Celebration at Mt. Rushmore last night. With my old computer, it was a bit of a struggle to keep up with the live thread and the live streaming on a different "tab", so I didn't comment, but I was there. I watched for hours, bouncing back and forth between tabs and thoroughly enjoyed the President's Speech. It has been a rough six months, this first half of a crucial election year, with the pandemic, quarantine, economic downturn, and the current unrest, and, of course, everybody on the live thread had an opinion. The marxist left was out in force in the road leading up to Mt. Rushmore, and they were well-equipped with matching brand-new white vans blocking the street (who bought those?), bullhorns, spray paint, and professionally-printed T-Shirts. While it was obvious that this had been financed and coordinated by powerful interests using young people as pawns, there was much difference of opinion what to DO about it. Some of our more passionate FReepers wanted to send in tanks and helicopters and put the full weight of the US Military to work against the miscreants. There was a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth on the live thread, and, at one point there was an intervention and some posts were removed.

At what seemed to be the last possible second, the crowd was dispersed, people were arrested, the road cleard, and the ceremonies went on without a hitch. And what a ceremony it was! Flyovers by the Blue Angels, The awesome Air Force Band playing John Philip Sousa, a welcoming speech by South Dakota's gorgeous governor, and then, an amazing speech by our President that affirmed Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The fireworks, though a beautiful pyrotechnic display, was almost anticlimactic after the President's speech. It seemed that he never even raised his voice, but spoke in an affirming, conversational, cadence that lifted our spirits and assured us that the America of Our Forefathers is still here, and we will rise above anything that is thrown at us. The contrast between the wailing, howling, ignorant mob outside the venue, who only wants to destroy without offering any solutions, and the joyous, orderly, forward-looking and patriotic crowd inside the venue was a lesson in logic that no thinking person can deny.

President Trump did not gloss over the sins in our History, but instead spoke of the good things. He focused upon heroism, determination, the desire for freedom, courage, and faith. He spoke of Valley Forge, the Declaration of Independence, Emancipation, Exploration, and American Exceptionalism.

The marxist mob showed their bankrupt, aimless, destructive colors last night. They also proved that President Trump is NOT a "fascist". If he were, he would have had them all mowed down and sent away to camps for their insolence. The fact that the Police and Military showed unimaginable restraint and still got the job done was a display of the total hypocrisy and mendacity of the left.

Today's Scripture from Jeremiah tells us to lament, but it is not the lamentation of the howling mob protesting the sins of somebody ELSE. It is the lamentation that comes from recognizing within ourselves the depth of sin, and crying out in repentance. For, once that is accomplished, the long journey towards Restoration and Renewal can begin.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Thank you for today’s scripture. If I may just a brief testimony. I thank God for my precious daughter. During her teen years, the most difficult time, she returned to Christ. God tested her, twisted her and refined her through several years, and I am so pleased to see that she loves the LORD. He has given her a heart of compassion and prayer and especially for her prodigal brother. I can’t tell you how that blesses me. She laments for him truly in prayer. He needed a healing last year, from a time of great distress. She told me she went on her face before GOD, and he sent her to him with just the right word, just the right attitude that lifted him up. I’m so grateful for this. My son is quiet, who am I to judge his heart now. But if we are to do any judging according to actions, his are misguided and in need of repentance and restoration. So we continue to pray for him. Thank you for your study each day, and the commitment and blessing we share Praying for the PEACE of JERUSALEM.

Thank you so much for that beautiful story. It fits in so well with Today’s Scripture about lamentation and repentance. God Bless You and your family, in Jesus Name.
