“Theism does demand faith and is prompted by emotional need.”
Nonsense. Prove it.
“No, because everything the intelligent must deal with is ruled by probability.”
What does that mean? Do you think the universe is purely probabilistic?
As an aside, I’m curious why you think this is a productive line of argument. Don’t you realize that, if you were able to actually support this argument, that it would only serve to completely invalidate ALL of your arguments? If intelligent beings are ruled by probability, rather than making deterministic choices, then a consequence of that is that all of your arguments (since you are an intelligent being) are now meaningless, and therefore invalid. Why would you attempt to make a line of argument that, if successful, would instantly invalidate your thesis?
Because I don't really care. I don't need to have what you will accept as a cogent argument to feel comfortable, or to earn your permission to not believe. I don't believe in any gods because
1) it's clear to me they are made up by humans (mostly because of all the human attributes they supposedly have, like jealousy and anger) and
2) the existence of the universe doesn't need explaining. It's here because it's here. To me, that's the end of it. I attempt to answer your questions because you asked them, not because it matters.
